I don't know if anyone remembers my posts about our cat, Mouse, who went to live with my daughter, Rose. Well, Rose had her for about a month and Mouse wasn't doing well. She wasn't happy, was afraid of the other cats. She wouldn't come out of Rose's attic room and was ok if Rose was in their with her, but cried all the time if Rose left. We agreed that we had given this enough time and the idea wasn't working and I picked Mouse up the day before yesterday. I was a little afraid that she would now have a hard time adjusting to being back, but I was wrong. She is happy as a clam! Our other pets seemed glad to see her and she immediately went to the litter box and then ate some dry food and happily got in bed with us, just like old times. We missed her as much as she seemed to miss us and we are happy she is home. I guess she is just too old to adjust to such big changes; she is 9 years old.

OH! thank you for the update! I am so happy to hear how happy Mouse is to be Home!

<edit>You might want to bring her in for a check up, and have a senior blood profile and a urinalysis done. Stress like that can cause illness.

Since there are other cats in the house daughter lives in, she won't be bereft of feline companionship, and when she goes out on her own, she can start her own feline pride!

One thing that is different is that the first time Heidi, my German shepherd, sniffed Mouse, Mouse stood up to her and swatted her. I am glad, because now Heidi isn't chasing her anymore! And that was one reason I thought Mouse would like living somewhere else. She asserted herself with Heidi right away and that problem seems to be solved.

I know your DD is disappointed that Mouse didn't make the transition, but I'm glad Mouse is home and happy again. Sounds like she's tired of that dog bothering her! Glad she stood up to him!

Her heart was obviously with you.

I'm glad you're happy again, Mouse!
