My family and I could use a few prayers tonight. My beautiful grandmother (Nannie) passed away this evening around 10:30pm. My mom called me while we were out, and Jack and I drove to the hospital to meet my mom, aunt, and my cousins there at the hospital. We stayed there for a while and just got back to our homes a little while ago.

My Nannie has been in the hospital for a while now. She had a very contagious virus (which she unknowingly had for several months.) By the time we realized anything was wrong about a month ago she was rushed into the ER and never left. I was not allowed to see her as I have a heart condition and could not be exposed and she was contagious and in isolation (My heart doctor wouldn't allow it). She spent almost a month in isolation (my family members that could see her had to wear full isolation gear). Yesterday they moved her into hospice care to let things progress naturally, the way that Nannie had wanted. To make a long story short, the virus put her into septic shock and started to shut down her kidneys. She wound up in congestive heart failure, had internal bleeding, and pulmonary edema. Today her kidneys completly shut down and her vitals were unstable, so it was a combintion of things. She had a living will and did not want blood transfusions, ventilators, cpr, dialysis or anything like that. She had spent soo much time in the hospital; she just wanted to go home to heaven.

I am sad that my Nannie passed away, but I also feel at peace now that I know she isn't suffering and that she lived a long, full life.
I'm trying to remeber to celebrate her life and what an amazing woman she was. I was soo blessed to have her.
It's still hard though knowing that I won't be able to give her a hug or have her say something silly when I've had a bad day. At the same time though, I know that she is with me and I'm happy that she is finally at rest.

Would you guys mind sparing a few vibes and prayers as my family and I try to sort through everything this week and plan her funeral?

I lost my Grandma 20 years ago this June. I was out of the country at the time and didn't even learn about it until two weeks later. I know how hard it must be for you that you didn't get that last hug to say good-bye.

So sorry to hear that news. It's never an easy thing to deal with a death, even if it's expected and somehow peaceful. Here are some vibes and hugs for you and your family to get through this time.

Thankyou for all of your prayers, vibes, and kindness everyone.

I couldn't sleep, so I've been sorting through pictures of my Nannie for a few hours now. Here are a few of my favorites:
