I need help figuring out what to get hubby for Valentines Day.

He does not like chocolate or candy.

I feel weird getting flower for him.

He does not wear jewelry - not even his wedding ring (I don't wear my wedding ring either though)

I usually get him a bottle of Crown Special Reserve, but not this year.

It makes it more difficult that his birthday is in two weeks

Ideas Please?

Do you like to cook? Have you considered breakfast in bed? My DH loves it and I try to give him breakfast in bed a couple times a year, usually the weekend closest to Valentine's Day and then the weekend closest to his birthday. I usually make up a type of French toast that can be refrigerated overnight, then baked the next morning. While the toast is baking, I can brown some sausage and make a fruit compote that I know he likes. I take everything back to the bedroom on a tray and we have our breakfast in bed....um, with the cats.
If you think he would like bacon and eggs or an omelet, do that instead. I've made eggs his favorite way, browned sausages, and roasted potatoes in the oven for his breakfasts, too. Orange juice and hot cocoa for him; he doesn't drink coffee. (Since my DH is out of town right now and won't be back until late Valentine's Day night, I am planning to make him breakfast in bed on Monday morning; he's off work and I'm off for the Presidents' Day holiday.)

For our 25th wedding anniversary, I sent my DH 25 long-stemmed red roses.....to work! They were sent to the front office and the secretary called DH to come to the office. When he got there, there were his flowers. His co-workers said he strutted back to his work area with his flowers, he was that tickled. (Not all men would enjoy receiving flowers. I know that and am lucky that he thought it was so cool. And you know what? Several guys came over to him and said that they thought it was pretty neat, too.)

One time for his birthday, I blew up a ton of balloons, went to his work and threw them all in his truck....with a birthday card that I taped to the steering wheel. Turns out he and his buddy were going to go out to lunch. They got out to the truck and saw all the balloons. They both thought that was a hoot and he was smiling when he got home from work that day.

Or I'll just make him his absolute favorite dinner....everything on the menu is just for him. He seems to appreciate that. I've taken him out to dinner, to the restaurant of his choice.

We don't wear our wedding rings either. He works in a factory and wearing jewelry is forbidden, due to items becoming tangled in machines. I ran a drill bit through my ring finger and flattened my ring. I guess we could buy a new one for me, but I don't need one. I know I'm married.

One idea that I always thought was neat is handmade coupons. Make up your own using things like "Redeem for 1 free massage." or "Redeem for a night out at a resturant of your choice." etc.

Can you make him something with your metalworking skills? A design that reflects his favorite hobby or something like that? Or something that he can use?

Also the food idea is a good one if he likes to eat and you like to cook. Or a restaurant is always good too.

BF and I have no valentines day plans, we decided not to do gifts. (I think!! that's how it was last year. I better double-check!) I got him a card, I assume he probably got me a card. Restaurants are too crowded for my liking then. So... maybe we'll go to breakfast or order a pizza or something else delivery.. Simple stuff.

I need to plan better (sooner) next year. I know he wants a Seahawks tattoo.
This year it's all about the grandson, Brighton....so Grandpa will just have to settle for a movie and maybe an Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger. We haven't had 'junk' food in months and about once every two weeks he tries to convince me that he 'needs' a UBC. I may let him have one, though it's not good for him. (type 2 diabetes) I really have to ponder that!

Yeah, he is extremely anti-tattoo and anti-needles! I have to lobby usually for several months before he lets me get a new tattoo

It would be awesome if I could impress him with a bit of art, but he is a better welder than I am, and our house is getting to be full of welded doo-dads

We will probably end up going out to our favorite restaurant for dinner Saturday night.

I have finally figure out what to get him though! He collects Crown Royal bags and so I am going to make a large throw for him. It won't be done by Valentine's, but I already have all of the supplies I need.
