Tonight, I was in the bathroom and Dusty came in with something in her mouth. She dropped it and proceeded to start playing with it. It was a penny! Of course I picked it up and put it in a drawer where she couldn't get it. She has done this before so we are careful not to drop coins on the carpet but sometimes one gets missed picking up. I would be afraid she would swallow it! Does anyone else have kitties that love coins?

Same thing happened tonight with Lucky, but with a cotton swab... scared me sooooo much! Noooooo Lucky! It goes to show that you can never be too careful!

Last week Cali found a penny on my dresser. She didn't get it in her mouth, but did manage to knock it off directly into the litter box.

Yes! I have learned not to leave coins lying around. Though I never caught Holland with one in her mouth, she LOVES to bat them around. Actually, now that I think about it, she loves to bat ANYTHING around that's small enough... she's knocked my cell phone on the floor a time or two, especially if she catches it vibrating.

I figure it could be worse, at least she's not a cord chewer or a paper shredder. I just have to be careful not to leave anything out that is small enough to get in her mouth.

We also can't leave coins lying around because they'll bat them off of wherever we put them and fling them around the house. In fact, Dana seems to think they just like money in general because he couldn't find his wallet this morning and he thinks the cats hid it.

You never know what cats will like. When I had indoor cats, they liked snooping in the grocery bags. Max would eat the raw collards.
