Over five years ago I constructed a huge kitty condo out of five Dell computer boxes for my cats. I cut various holes in the boxes, glued carpet squares in each compartment, and hung toys at various spots. I moved last year, and the cardboard kitty condo came with us. The movers were kutzes, and the top compartment was somehow sheared off during the move. The rest was as good as new. The kids slept and played as usual. I felt a little guilty because I wanted to buy them a "proper" condo, but the economy was not cooperating with my desire for more money.
Anyway, the condo is still standing, and it looks surprisingly good for all the wear and tear. Angel and Ruby are currently defending it against Rocky, the new kitten. He thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, and when the kitten crazies hit (which is ten times a day) he climbs up and through the condo at full speed.
I'm a bad mamma--I laughed like heck the first time he did it and fell flat on his butt.
