I know what you mean about the flash. I'm assuming your digital camera won't let you take pictures unless there's enough light right? And then if you turn off the flash the shutter stays open too long...
What you can do to minimise how the flash effects your picture is bounce it against the ceiling.
To do this you need a small hand held mirror which you place in front of the flash, like say between the flash and the lens of the camera. The effect of the flash will vary depending on what the light is bounced off, or in which direction you are reflecting the light. You can also try experimenting with bouncing the flash through colored paper. So instead of using a mirror you use a sheet of maybe red, or pink or blue paper, and just place it between the flash and the lense...
This works to a point, you need a certain amount of light to begin with otherwise it will still look quite flat...
But the more you experiment the easier it'll be.
I'm also assuming you don't already know this...
These are some photos of my baby Diesel, He passed away last year...
But his eyes are still as beautiful as they used to be...
i didnt notice this thread had more pages to it, i hadnt seen all of it when i posted, i saw the other 2 kitties, the one called diesal has the most prettist blue eyes ive ever seen on a cat, wow, they both were nice lookin kitties, so sorry about your loss, he was one pretty cat, and im sure he still is.
Yeah.... Everyone used to say that. He had the most amazing blue eyes... It wasn't so much the colour for me, it was the cat that came through the eyes that made them the way they were.
