I've stepped on two of the cats in the last two days, and I'm feeling like a clutz. In fact, the first time, I actually stepped on Sterling twice before he could get away from me!

Fortunately, none of it looks serious, but it can sure be heart-wrenching when it happens.

Oh, gosh, I remember how badly I felt when I took my boy in for his teeth cleaning...first I starve him and don't let him drink, then I drag him to the vet, then I leave him there to have a blood test and get knocked out and his teeth brushed, then when I bring him home I still don't feed him! And then, to totally add insult to injury, I managed to step on his tail! What a horrible day he had! He was none too happy with me, to say the least.

But, by the next morning, he was cuddled up to me. Of course, he was even more loving when I woke up at 4:00 am to feed him.

Cats are bad for getting under our feet. Just give them extra hugs and they will forgive you..

They forgive easily. Lucy is notorious for stopping in front us and flipping over on her back, placing her tail directly under a foot. Needless to say, it has been stepped on a couple of times.

I find in the morning I shuffle around the kitchen because it is too easy to step on someone.

Awwww =[ your kitties know it's an accident when it happens
kitties just get underfoot because they are very nosey, and want to know what your doing half the time.. don't worry i've been there myself, but they always come back for cuddles, so alls forgiven lol

Oh, I know it was accidentally. They don't, though. And they run away, holding up their paw, and looking at me so hurt!

It's the mad rush for the soft food that causes the problem.

I always walk barefoot in my home and I had a tendency to litterally fall on the floor when I feet something under my feet (wich is the only way not to put my weight on the tail or the paw of one of my cats).
At first I think they were more scared than if I had actually stepped on them. They looked at me with the "mommy, what are you doing?" faces. I have a better balance now and most onf the time I will just step aside really fast and manage to stay on my feet. What is funny, though, is when I step on a cat toy or pair of socks and I will do the same thing because it is now such a reflex!
