That danged groundhog...we're supposed to get 2 ft. of snow though tonight. It started at 3 PM Friday. I think it's been snowing at the rate of 1-3" an hour (more like between 2-3"). Two hours ago, I could look out my upstairs bathroom's window, and look down to see the neighbor's house behind us. There is an overhang roof below the window (it's the roof of the study downstairs). As of about 45 minutes ago, I could no longer see their house! There must be at least 4" more added to the pile under the window.

I think the record (in my lifetime) here was 36" (3 ft.) in one day--and my back remembers shoveling THAT snow!
(I was living with my parents then, and we had a long driveway to shovel.)

Stay safe and warm, everyone!

Im snowed in too. We have about 4-5 in in some places and more in others from the wind blowing. We are supposed to get 2-4 more by 2pm...Im really happy all I wanted was one good snow storm for the year and I would be happy. Southern Pa is supposed to get over 2 ft of snow I wish that storm would push its way north to Central Pa and Id be super duper happy!

We almost got missed entirely this time. There is barely enough snow here to show itself on the grass, and there is already water dripping from the roof were that tiny bit is melting.

We have about 2 feet here (southern NJ) and it is still coming down - agh! Part of me is happy this is happening on Saturday and part of me wished it had started tomorrow afternoon.

I just saw on Channel 10 News that half of Cape May is without power. I don't know if you're in Cape May (you said southern NJ,so I'm taking a guess). I hope everything is ok with you where you are! You poor guys are getting the worst of it, apart from DC & Maryland. Stay safe.

Well, it's pretty cool here (40 degrees, right now) but the sign is shining brightly and we're not expecting any precipitation for a few days.

We've had a magical winter here in Michigan so far.

Because we've had NO major snowfall!

It makes me so happy. I hate snow!

We have close to two feet right now and at this moment we are in the middle of a heavy band of snow. We expect to get 5-9 more inches. I expect it will be about two days before we get out. We just had to help a 4 wheel drive vehicle get off one of our side streets. He was trying to get to a doctor and a nurse to take them to the hospital so we had to get him out but it is pretty nasty.

Thanks - but so far, we're ok electricity wise. Good thing, too, 'cause we have electric heat! I stopped for awhile and has now begun to sleet. Maybe the rain will come and wash this mess away!

We're right outside of Winfield in PA, with a little over six inches of snow. It looks like it's stopped now, so we're good to go. We're plowed out and the roads don't seem too bad right now. But with that wind gusting around, the snow will blow all over the place. And that's not good.

Stay safe everybody. And warm.

Its not to windy over here though Im sure it will get there soon. I heard we are supposed to get a bigger snow storm on Wed. I checked weather.com and it says we are supposed to get snow on Wed.

Now, they're saying we may have 30" in my county! I'd say we have at least 2 ft our there now, as of noon.

Guess we're not going out to dinner tonight!

We have over 30 inches in parts of my county. One of my cats, Zander, is just sitting at the window howling. I don't think he likes the snow either.
He keeps watching it. It is pretty funny. I took pictures of him at the window with mounds of snow outside.

I have dinner in the crock pot right now and have my fingers crossed that the electricity does not go out. The nieghborhood across the street where I am at is completely without electricity. The wind is blowing the snow and knocking the accumulated snow on trees so much we can't see very well out the window.

Not now, but we got about 2' of snow back at Christmas and we just keep getting more. We got 5" the night before last and we're set to get even more tomorrow night. Oh boy.

What county are in you? I think we have 2ft. The news can't make up their minds. LoL It's snowing lightly right now. We just shoveled the stairs and walk way. OMG My shoulder is killing me. It's melting underneath too. Where to put all this snow! We are definitely snowed in right now. I live on a Terrace and it doesn't get plowed. Our side streets may since it's a snow emergency.

In the snow!!!!
This is the view that greeted me this morning. We got about 12.5 inches, but there was a layer of icy slush under it and also a lot of wind caused major drifting.

I'm kinda snowed in too altho it wasn't as bad as they said it would be. I live in Central NJ and we got about 6" but I'm not sure since I haven't heard exactly what we did get. I know Southern NJ got a whole lot more. I was able to get out and clean the porch and car but I never do a good job and tonight all will turn to ice. I do have a lot of ice melter in the house but I don't plan on leaving since I don't have to. Here are a couple of pics I took before I cleaned up:
This was taken from my front door and as you can see it is the steps from the porch,

This is of course my car and as you can see the snow didn't even cover the tires but there sure was a lot on the car:
