Another Respiratory Illness!!

I can't believe that I'm sick, again!!

On Tuesday I started to get the standard cold symptoms: Itchy ears, tickle in my throat, sneezing, the occasional dry cough.

Yesterday at work I could hardly breathe when I walked, even a short distance across the office. So suffice it to say I did as little of that as I possibly could manage. With the help of my inhalers, which I took almost every hour, I managed to make it through the shift.

This morning I woke up and just getting out of bed had me panting and puffing so hard I was in a cold sweat and almost passed out. Plus I was coughing like a pack a day smoker! I nearly threw up

I went to the doctor today. He said that he could hear very little air moving to the bases of my lungs and I'm wheezy as all heck. He thinks it's either bronchitis or a mild pneumonia. Either way he put me on Azithromycin and Prednisone for a week.

I'm sitting here playing music when I breathe and my ribs are so sore from coughing. I doubt that I'm going to get very much sleep tonight. Which means none of you can sleep either because I'm going to need someone to talk too

I'm really sorry that you are going through this hun. I have a brother with asthma and constant breathing problems and watching him breaks my heart, so I am sure you're going through a lot right now. Here's hoping it clears up soon.

That sounds awful! Here's hoping that the antibiotic kicks in soon.

Aww Linda, I hope you feel better soon sweetie! Did the doctor do a chest x-ray on you? I hope you feel better soon; this being sick crud is not good! Hopefully the medicine will kick in soon and you will feel better! Have you tried sitting in the bathroom and turning on the hot water in your shower to let the steam loosen up the gunk in your lungs?

Id love to come over and commiserate with you over Judge Judy - Im having my third influenza-like-illness over here myself! This has been the worst year I can remember for URIs - normally I get mild colds only.
For me though, it seems to be airports that do me in - I returned from Colorado a few days ago, and my "probable swine flu" of last fall came right after my conference in Montreal - Maybe I should stay home more!!

If you were closer,I'd bring you my breathing machine!I've been lucky this year with only one nasty bout of whatever was going around at the time.Whenever I feel something coming on,I start guzzling airborn...I get it at WalMart pharmacy....and I use the zicam gel up the nose.Many times I have fought things off this way,and sometimes they don't last as long if I do get it.I hope you get to feeling better very soon!
