I brought Taylor to the vet yesterday because she was throwing up for several days now, and they did a full blood panel on her to see if they could find anything. The vet said that he could feel her thyroid thinking there's a tumor, so it might be hyperthyroidism. He said it could be as simple as her being an idiot when she eats to something as serious as lymphoma. I know how serious lymphoma is in general for any creature, let alone cats. And Dr. Brett (I'm there so much that we're on a first name basis now lol) said that in a cat her age there really is no chance at saving her which is totally understandable. It's just tough because she doesn't act her age at all. She's the biggest goofball around
. She has always been a little up and down with her weight, but she hasn't dropped any significant amount of weight recently and her coat is still in good condition and she seems to eat and drink fine. She has always had a little blood in her stool almost since I adopted her like 2-ish years ago. It was never a cause of concern, but now it's raising a few flags.

(for those of you who might remember which cat I'm talking about: Taylor is my 14 y/o tuxedo lady with cerebellar hypoplasia- basically an old goofball
)

I'm just anxiously waiting for the vet to call me. I just called and they said he just went into surgery but the results are in his box to call me when he gets the chance in between appointments and surgeries and stuff.

I hope you get some good news. Don't borrow trouble.

It could be something simple. You say she is still acting fine.

Please let us know. for you and your kitty.

Thank you everyone for your good thoughts, they worked

The vet called me and said that all her bloodwork turned out fine. He actually said that according to what he saw yesterday and what he saw with the bloodwork she is one of the most healthy 14 year old cats he's ever seen (he is also very partial to tuxedo kitties- he has one that looks just like her
). So as of right now the thyroid blip that he felt yesterday is nothing... So basically I spent over $150 just to find out that she is completely healthy and is just an idiot when she eats
. Just my luck lol. At least there is nothing wrong with her, all I have to do is try and keep her appetite satisfied with wet food because she is fine when she eats only wet food. Looks like it's time to go out and get some more wet food this weekend! So much for having wet food every other night... now they will all have to get spoiled along with her

I love black and white cats and have 3 of them.
One is a sphynx though.
I am glad she is ok.
My oldest black and white cat is almost 18.

Oh, that's great she's ok - and, while I certainly know that $150 isn't just chump change, I'm thinking now you have peace of mind, as well as another baseline to work from in the future when your vet is looking at changes in your pretty lady. That's actually not a bad result for $150!

That's what he said too- at least now we have this baseline to look back on a year or two from now. Especially since I don't bring her in for a check-up twice a year, which is recommended because of her age. She only goes once a year for shots. With four other kitties and one of them with feline herpes AND allergies, and another with chlamydia (Pirate constantly has staph infections in his nose and URI's because of the herpes and allergies, and Sidney occasionally gets icky eyes from the chlamydia) I just can't afford bringing Taylor in twice a year for a check-up (unless something like this comes up, then I know I need to make the sacrifice and say bye-bye to that money
). Between all these icky sicky kitties, I swear I'm at the vet every few months with one of them for something gone wrong, or I'm there picking up steroids, antibiotics, viralys, etc. for Pirate or picking up stuff to put in Sid's eyes. The only one that has never had anything wrong with her is Mama Mia... watch, now that I said that I'll wake up tomorrow morning and something will be wrong. I jinxed it
. (I'm actually not worried about her- she's built like a brick *poop*house
)

Never be sorry when you spend the money and all is well. Believe me it is better than spending it and losing your cat. I am so glad you cat is fine. Hugs.
