I brought Taylor to the vet yesterday because she was throwing up for several days now, and they did a full blood panel on her to see if they could find anything. The vet said that he could feel her thyroid thinking there's a tumor, so it might be hyperthyroidism. He said it could be as simple as her being an idiot when she eats to something as serious as lymphoma. I know how serious lymphoma is in general for any creature, let alone cats. And Dr. Brett (I'm there so much that we're on a first name basis now lol) said that in a cat her age there really is no chance at saving her which is totally understandable. It's just tough because she doesn't act her age at all. She's the biggest goofball around
. She has always been a little up and down with her weight, but she hasn't dropped any significant amount of weight recently and her coat is still in good condition and she seems to eat and drink fine. She has always had a little blood in her stool almost since I adopted her like 2-ish years ago. It was never a cause of concern, but now it's raising a few flags.
(for those of you who might remember which cat I'm talking about: Taylor is my 14 y/o tuxedo lady with cerebellar hypoplasia- basically an old goofball
)
I'm just anxiously waiting for the vet to call me. I just called and they said he just went into surgery but the results are in his box to call me when he gets the chance in between appointments and surgeries and stuff.
