Tonight I got Toast and chicken and rice soup for dinner

Last meal I ate was Saturday 5 or 6pm. I was able to drink water yesterday morning, and I finally got to have jello last night about 7pm. This morning I got broth!!!
now I get TOAST!!! and crackers. OMG... I even got an andes mint!! I'm saving that though, probably not good for my tummy atm. I've been stopping the nurses from taking my other piece of toast away. I eat small meals all day long because I don't have room in my abdomin for large meals, because of that I assume I will be hungry enough for the other piece of
toast later.

So... I am one step closer to real food, and closer to getting to go home. I just hope that the problem has been delt with, and won't come back.

I've never been so excited and happy to be offered toast! TOAST!!

Just had to share.

Be safe.

When I was in the hospital for 4 days they kept going between clear fluids and no food and water at all. (I was being threatened with possible colonoscopy or surgery) I was thrilled when on the last day they finally brought me a bowl of tomato soup.

How wonderful for you! I'd be thrilled, too.

(You're going to laugh at me, but.........geez, I love toast!)

I'm so glad you're doing well. (((hugs)))

Thank you all for sharing my excitement with me!
Thank you for the vibes and hugs, it helps. I've been scared, last night my heart rate was 42 (42?) Great # being the 'answer' and all, but it scared me. I took a long walk with my Hubby, and had them to my heart rate, and it was up to normal, so I feel better. I've been pretty inactive lately, so...

Well, this morning I got offered 'real breakfast'!!!
How exciting, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, mmmmmmmmm. They brought it to me, and lifted the dome, and there sat 2 pieces of toast
I was so deflated
Toast? It's definately better then Broth, Jello or... UGH Ice chips! Well I'll take it!
It's whole wheat, so it's got some flavor!

I may get out this after noon (Please please) Or this evening (I'll be happy).
Just in time for our weekly get together at my house for D&D! There were questions if we were playing tonight and where. I am the one who sets it up usually, and plans food and stuff. I didn't even realize it was (I have a thing for z's) already Thursday. Well... it looks like I may get to join the game after all! There won't be food tonight though. I don't want to torture myself, so everyone will eat first, and maybe we will have fruit for snacking on. (I'll have prunes!! J/K)

Thanks again, you all RULE!

Be safe

At least I know that I have the hang of thursdays!!

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
When I was in the hospital for Cellulitis, I did the same thing... I celebrated the little things. The day I was able to get up and go over to the bathroom all by myself. When i finally got to take a shower (yeah, I was getting pretty stinky)... Eating more than a few bites. When i could step down a level in medication... When things throw you off like that, it's the little baby steps that matter the most.

it continued after i got out, too... when I was able to stand long enough to cook. I made scrambled eggs. Sit up for more than five minutes without getting lightheaded... yeah, it was a b****... but I survived by celebrating those little things.

Now I'm craving toast... thanks....

I totally understand! Years ago I had surgery and then complications, so I was on the IV for a while. When they finally said I could have solid food they offered me gruel. Ugh! I said no and they offered toast. It was the best toast I ever had in my life! Congrats on getting closer to going home!

Yay for food! Glad you can have some now!!

When I was pregnant with my daughter(many moons ago...maybe eons!!
) I had pre-eclampsia...couldn't hold food down, not even water. So it was nothing but IV's for two weeks. The first food I ate was something my nurse snuck into me when I was crying for food....Peas! THEY WERE SOOOOO GOOD!!! For awhile!
