I am showing Wrinkles in Monterey at the end of this month and one of the juddges is going to tell me what they like and do not like about Wrinkles.
She is judging on Sat so I will talk to her on sunday.
She gave Cleo best of breed before but never Wrinkles.
We will not be going to Arcadia this time but plan on going in April and what ever monnth we do not have a show here.
I may only show Wrinkles in TICA soon.
She does terrible in CFA.

Maybe you should come and show in New Zealand? I know my Nana will give you an honest opinion - heck you can't shut us kiwi judges up

Why dont you come out here one day.
It is to bad you live in New Zealand.
The judges never say to much about Wrinkles.
My friend has a Persian you would love.
She is expected to do real well.

Jacky, that would be helpful to decide what you want to do in the end. But is this judge a Sphynx breeder too? I would tend to want a judge's evaluation that really KNOWS the standard or breeds the cats to be most helpful.

Some judges you can tell over time if they really know their standards on the cats.

Martice,
She is a Bengal breeder.
I email her husband all the time but have never talked to her.
There were ex sphynx breeders at the CFA show last weekend and they all liked Cleo.
They brought up Wrinkles is pointed and blue eyed and said judges do not like that.
I keep hearing that from everyone.
Wrinkles breeder was told that the male odd eyed stud she thought was hot would not do well if he was shown because his color.
This is what happens when the breeders do not show.
I doubt she will ever show.
She has 13 kittens right now and more due in 2 weeks.
They are all very healthy also but not good enough for me.
She scans now and really cares about her cats but the showing is a problem.
She also loves getting picture of Wrinkles and will be using some pictures for her gallery when she redoes her website.

In time CFA judges will accept the pointed cats. They had a very hard time with accepting Cornish Rex that were pointed (even tho the gene was always in the breed from the beginning as they were crossed to Siamese a lot). I don't see why CFA would object to pointed Sphynx since its only skin color on the cat. Has NOTHING to do with the cat having blue eyes. Its the fact its pointed, but as long as the color is accepted in the breed, the judge will put up a good quality pointed Sphynx or Rex.

They think the breeders are outcrossing them to siamese which is not allowed.
I was told that breeders put DSH on the peds but use siamese.
Wrinkles is not a outcross at all.
I bring her DNA test and her ped to all the shows just in case I am asked anything.
This lady told me she had a real good sphynx and one of the judges told her since it is a point they would not final it but the cat is the perfect sphynx.
Peterbalds are outcrossed to siamese.

Can they DNA test cat breeds now?

I know it's available in dogs but didn't think they could with cats yet.

I think they can only DNA test the different point genes or something. Please correct me if I'm wrong, it's good to learn new things!

They are getting closer to being able to test what breeds cats are but they only do dogs right now.
Wrinkles did have a DNA test so I know what colors she carries and we know she is a point.

Yes that's what I had thought. Thanks

On the CFA website, second best of breed Sphynx is a red point so there must be some judges who like them for him to be 2nd. 1st and 3rd are black/white & red/white.

The number 1 cat is from the lady from the breed council that told me they do not like blue eyed pointed cats in CFA.
I see a red point did well.
I think I might have hurt Wrinkles breeders feelings because I am not going to get a kitten from her.
She has 3 litters of kittens right now but she does not show so I can not take a kitten from her.
She has offered to teach me about breeding.
Some other breeders offered me kittens also but I had to turn them down because they do not HCM scan.
