Oh dear, what a tragedy, poor lady but what a treasure she was, may she R.I.P and go to the rainbow bridge to find all the lost kitties. xx

from the article:

The cat was not seen by police, though the police did receive calls regarding a cat in the area prior to the accident, said Sgt. Christopher Buckley with the State Police.
Too bad the police didn't see fit to respond to these calls. A life could have been saved, if they had. Many lives, as what's to become of her own animals?

I feel terrible for the woman's animals. I hope they have loving homes to go to and will not be dumped in a shelter.

My mother does things like this. She is 74, and broken down by arthritis, and has 9 cats at home relying on her to stay alive and care for them, but she cannot stop saving other cats too. It is her life's work I know, but......

Our pleas to her to think of her own cats and stop the rescue work, do not make any difference, she is driven to save cats, though she barely has the use of her hands at all anymore

This comes too close to home, I guess you can tell.

Truly a sad story. I lost a friend in 2005 trying to catch a stray dog on a dark country road late at night. She ran in front of a pickup truck and was killed instantly.

These are such sad stories. Such good, caring people putting their safety at risk for the small animals.

God Bless them, I can only think they must be in Heaven after giving their life so selflessly.

I hadn't heard about this one yet, but I feel that she died doing something worthwhile, and hope they can say the same thing about me when my time comes.
Enjoy your spot in heaven, you earned it.

I am sending mega prayers and vibes for your mother's safety, and for blessings for her efforts. God gave her a valiant heart; thank Heaven for such treasures among us. IMO, they are the "angels who dwell among us, unawares"

Such people are blessings who walk the face of this ugly earth, truly angels indeed. May she rest in peace and watch over all others who have devoted their lives to saving the lives of animals
