1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones? Journey - Greatest Hits, Rush - Retrospective, Foreigner -The Very Best and Beyond, Live -The Distance to Here, Pink Floyd - The Wall. I like rock music.

2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why? This is hard! I would need thousands of books. But the ones that come to mind are: Wifey by Judy Blume, The Deep, Jaws, Secrets of the Shopping Mall, The Perfect Storm. These are books I've read over and over again, so they'd be my choices.

3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind? Plenty of pens and paper so I could write.

4. Food might be a challenge. If you could have only two or three foods and nothing else, what would you choose? Why? Lemons, chocolate and cheese because they're my favorite foods, though I'm probably going to get hungry.

5. If you could have one human companion, who would that be? Why? My husband, because we have fun together.

Do you make your own lemonade? No, but I buy a lot of lemon slushies from Sonic (with extra lemon, of course).
What's your favorite thing to eat made from/with lemons? Is it sweet - like lemon bars - or is it a main dish, like lemon chicken? I like this lemon dish that my mom learned to make when we lived in Puerto Rico - chopped baked chicken, raw onions, green onions, fresh squeezed lemon juice, garlic salt and a touch of hot sauce. It's great. I also have a recipe for broiled lemon chicken from a cookbook from an Italian restaurant in Harlem. It's delicious, but when I made it I smoked up my kitchen to the point where I haven't tried it again.
Is your family from Italy? No, my dad was in the Navy.

Where in Italy did you live? Gaeta. It's about 60 miles from Naples, maybe about 80 or 100 from Rome.
Do you prefer North? South? Sicily? I have never been to Sicily, but I'd love to go. Italy is a different pace, like a different world. And it's beautiful. Even if I wasn't afraid to fly, I could never afford a vacation there, though.

Chinese? Sacha shrimp (not sure if I spelled that right, but it's hot and spicy)

What's your favorite and why? I like Oriental food the best, either Chinese or Vietnamese. Also, there is a Vietnamese bakery in Charlotte, NC that makes these great cakes. I found out by talking to some people on a gourmet food site (I was trying to get the recipe) that the cakes are actually French in origin. And I have never been able to find the recipe.

I dislike sausage so much that I can't pretend to like it even to avoid hurting someone's feelings. And I've tried....

8. Do you consider yourself adventurous where unfamiliar food is concerned? Yes, I am, but most of the time I'm sorry for it. I tried crawfish in Mississippi because people were so excited over them, piling their plates full of them at the buffet. "They look like little lobsters," I thought. "They'll taste like lobster." In truth, I tried one and it was awful. After I finally got it peeled (the way I remember it, it had legs like an insect), it tasted like what I imagine a roach might taste like. I wrapped it up in a napkin and asked the waitress to take it away. "He's in there," I told her. "I know...I don't like them, either," she said. My friends at work teased me about "creek lobsters" for weeks after.

9. What is your favourite meal of the day? Dinner, but I like them all!

I can relate! I don't mind having people in the kitchen while I work, though, as long as they know I'd just as soon do it myself. One of our friends always asks, "Is there anything I can say to help?" He knows there's not likely to be anything to DO.

Forget deep sea fishing, go Bone fishing! It's coastal fishing (like in FL) and MAN are those fast fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
