So as if all the problems with Alli aren't enough, I noticed yesterday that a young cat named Kiley was breathing very rapid & heavy. So we decided to take her to the ER vet. As a shelter we try not to take them to the ER unless absolutly necessary. I am so glad I did. The vet tech instantly said, she was looking a little pale. So she was put in an cage with oxegen, given a mild seditive & had x-rays taken. The x-rays show changes in her lungs, her heart looked normal size & shape. She spent the night there, not a cheap thing, but I slept better knowing she was safe & comfortable. Last night she was going to have blood work done & this morning she is having an ultra sound. The 3 likely causes, lung infection, asthma or heart disease. She is a fairly young cat 1-2. I am hoping for infectin or asthma. Please keep this sweet little girl in your thoughts.

Well it's not good news. She has hypertropic Cardio Myopothy. She will need to be on medications for the rest of her life & this makes finding her a home especially difficult. The vet said she is in mild heart failure, prognosis is 2 - 3 years, and she will not be able to be spayed.

Now I have to make some phone calls.
