Riley and Xander found a critter!

The boys have been watching the snow out the patio door all day, but a while ago they got super excited. I thought they were just trying to get the birds at the feeder, until I saw them watching something crawl around outside the window!

Its a little mole or mouse or something that is deep under the snow crawling around, making little tunnels!

The boys are going insane trying to get him

That poor little mouse is probably trying to find its way out of the snow before it freezes to death

Pretty sure its a mole. He hasn't been back for a while though so he must have found his way back to his hole. They're still watching though, just in case!

They are going to watch that window judiciously for the next month looking for this guy.

How much fun this must be for them! This really made me ! I can totally see Maia doing the same, except we don't get snow drifts outside the windows, thank god! However it has been 13 degrees here the past 2 days!

Riley and Xander had the perfect snowy day view.

For the mole...

What a cool pic, the mouse & the cat in the same shot- amazing Real life Animal Planet right in your own home

Aww how entertaining that must have been for them. But frustrating at the same time to not be able to get though the glass.

Oh that mole is out there taunting those kitties! "Nah nah, you can't get me!"

You really did get a fantastic shot of your boys and the snow mole.

Has the mole returned?

Brings back memories from my college years. Heavy snows piled up against some windows and critter(s) were burrowing next to the glass. Only this time the observers where students between classes.

I imagine your boys were wishing that "force field" wasn't there.

He hasn't come back, so hopefully found his way home. The boys watched for him a little while this morning but gave up when he didn't show

Those photos are priceless.
I bet Riley and Xander will be on mole watch tomorrow too.
Good luck boys.
