Hi everyone, gosh what another tough time we are going to be facing, I think we have all just about come to terms with my hubbys gran passing at the end of november, well apart from his grandad who has been so ill since and he doesn't enjoy life without her and has been finding it very hard to cope which is understandable they were married 54 years. Well he has been vomiting blood for a couple of weeks, my mother in law got him in at the docs and he went for a chest x-ray on tuesday, they said it would take 7-10 days for the results but he got a phone call from his doctor this morning, saying that the results were back. My mum in law went with him at 11 to get them and its lung cancer. We don't know anymore at the moment and I ahve only spoken briefly to her as she is still with him so doesn't want to go into too much detail while he is around, he has got to go for a scan at the hospital, they will ring him monday with an appointment.
I just cannot believe this is happening, I went into major meltdown when his nana passed and ended up on diazepam as it brought on my panic attacks, I really have just started to feel a bit better. We all know that he will pass, he has already said he doesn't want treatment if any is available and since Barbara has passed away he said he has no joy in life anymore, my sister in law has said that he is selfish but I can understand him. I just am so scared again and just don't know if we all can take much more, my mum in law Elaine hasbeen through so much already, I feel so sorry for her. Please if you can spare some vibes it would be appreciated, I don't know really vibes for what, I suppose just coping vibes and strength, thankyou so much for letting me vent on here you all really helped me when Barbara passed.xx

Goodness, you must feel like you've been hit by a bus! Sending many, many for you and your family, as you wait for news and come to terms with this. I understand your SIL's comment, but I also understand where her Dad is coming from. I hope -- you know, I'm not sure what I hope there -- I guess that they can reconcile their feelings, and honour each other -- whatever that translates to in real terms.

to you.

Well, I have just spoken to my mum in law and she is in a terrible state which is understandable, Dennis (thats hubbys grandad) has decided that there is nothing wrong with him and that he just has a tickly cough. He has to go for a blood test tomorrow and wait for the hospital to ring him on monday to organise a scan. My mum in law said that the doctors face just said it all, she knows its bad and she knows he probably won't come through this as he has no fight left in him. Its so terrible o lose your mum so recentely and then think you may have to go through it again with your dad. Hubby seems to be taking the news well, I have told hubby, sil and mil to wait until he has the scan and not make presumptions at this minute. The worst thing is that he isn't coping well on his own as it is. Mil doesn't drive so she relys on him to pick her up if he wants her to go to the house for anything plus she has a 7 year old who she obviously has to be around for, her hubby works full time and they can't afford to lose money. I don't drive s I can't help, its just so bad. I have told mil to ring up to see if she can get him any home help/care as I think he will really need it. Thanks for all your kind words and hope you don't all get fed up of me venting, I think I may need to do that alot in the near future.xx

Ruth, I'm so sorry to hear about more bad news!! That is a difficult situation for sure. Again, just try to be there for the family and your husband's granddad. Take care.
