Not talking about bad news, but the good ones. Does your vet call you for updates?
I have two vets and they do. One called to check if my dog was doing okay after the neuter operation and the other one checked on my QT when she came home after being confined for a week in the clinic.

My vet does that all the time.
Wrinkles was altered Jan 18th and they called the next day to make sure she was ok They did that with my other cats also.
Wrinkles had no problems with the surgery but had hives from the stuff they used and her paw was right paw was huge.
They believe it was from being tied down.

My vet has called me several times to check on my cat Princess. My vet even gave me her home phone number incase Princess' condition worsened. Princess has quite a few medical problems and we have been going to the same vet for over 14 years so she knows us VERY well.

Riley has been to the vet numerous times this year for health problems and she calls a couple days after each visit to check in on him.

Yes, he does. My husband is an expert fisherman and my vet likes to get fishing info. He wants to stay on good terms with my husband. I don't know if he is more concerned about fishing or my cats.

WHAT? Concerned Vet?? Where? I have had a vet for 20 years and she won't even call me when a "good" test result comes back. She misdiagnosed Bella during Thanksgiving and said she had cancer before she even took a biopsy!! What if I had made the decision to put her to sleep based on my vet's word? We won't be going back.

CAlls from a vet!!!!!! You mean a Vet actually calls you?!

Sorry don't mean to sound silly but my vet NEVER calls me back - let alone calls for an update. It almost takes an act of congress to get her to call me with blood test results.

Main Vet will - he is very kind BUT he only works one day a week!

Our vet calls the day after an appointment, even if its just a comprehensive exam or vaccination, to see how whichever kitty it was is doing

Mine does all the time, they are very good.
And, when I had to have a cat PTS, they send me a card with actual paw prints from our cat stamped in the card.

We've had a couple of calls from the vet as follow-ups from treatment. It's nice to get a call, but it just felt like a standard thing, not really caring interest.

My vet does not usually call me. Then again, if there is some kind of problem going on with one of my pets I am usually in constant email contact with her so there is no need for her to call me!

My vet calls me whenever I bring the kitties in. He usually calls me the next day to find out how they are doing. AND he usually talks to me when I go in to pick up TIlly's prescription to see how she is doing. Its nice he steps away from his busy schedule to see how my cats are doing. Of cousre being one of his first clients doesn;t hurt either! That and I got him alot of other clients when he was first starting out. But from what I understand he always calls his other clients after appointments and tests.

What is also awesome about my Vet is that he doesn't order tests UNLESS they are ABSOLUTELY needed since he knows I don't have alot of money. SO when he said that TIlly needed a full thyroid panel I knew he was serious. and thankfully I listened to him since now she is healthy and putting on weight and no longer starving and she has turned into a very nice and beautiful cat. i have moved since I started with him and I drive the 1/2 hour to take my kitties to see him.

Yes, my vet has always called to check on progress after surgery or if they've seen a pet and its been ill to see how its doing. I think that's good practice. It shows they care about more than just making a dollar while your there at the office.

I get called again..and again. until it gets resolved
and they take calls as well!
I only hope they never retire

Oh yeah! Vet and dentist - both call to check on them, and even to check if I am being able to give them the meds everyday, etc (Bugsy is quite difficult with meds). Now that Bugsy is being treated at the dentist, the vet also calls to check on him from time to time, even though he is not the one treating him.
I have sweet vets

Not too often, although of we're having a serious problem with one of the cats, somebody from the office will usually call. When we were having trouble trying to get Banshee's hyperthyroidism under control, the office did call us. She also had asthma, so she had a double whammy and was taking medicine for both. We were pretty much in constant communication. And sometimes, if she needed oxygen quickly, they were very good about us coming in right away.

We put our cat, Speedboat, to sleep a week ago today. The vets office sent a sympathy card. They are the greatest.
