With all that my parents have been through, etc, I finally had a Will made up in case something should happen to me and my dad outlives me. It is not something I want to have to think about, but a good idea to have just in case.

I included my cats so that they will be taken care of and I do not have to worry about them going to a shelter, etc. They will be with people they know.

How many of you have a Will and have your pets included?

I'm 22 and haven't given much thought to a Will even though I think everyone should.

It's good that you have your cats accounted for and you can rest easy! I live with my parents and even though I've taken care of vet bills and whatnot my cats would just be their cats with no problem if something happened to me.

We made a will ONLY for the pets so there would be no question when it comes to their care. At that time it was written we had several different species, all spoiled, pampered, fairly high maintenance, and all requiring experienced dedicated care (dogs, cat, reptiles).

DH and I were required to have one before he deployed after we were married. (I'm 99% sure he had to have one even before we were married.) But now we have a baby and need to get it updated. Part of the problem is I have NO idea who I would want to raise her! We previously had everything to be split between my parents and his; but it's obviously different with Tressa. We haven't even selected God-parents yet...

My husband and I made up a will in August that includes our pets.

We did and it includes the furkids. My brother and SIL have agreed to take our cats should anything happen to us and they're great cat-parents; at one time, they had four kitties of their own. We have money set aside for our cats' care: regular vet visits, dentals, etc. Everything is included right in the will.

I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have a will in paper but itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s pretty much known that if anyone dies in my family everything goes to my Father who will contribute it out evenly. This is the way itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been since I was a baby with all family members even extended.... funny, he is even the middle guy with divorces LOL.

As for the kitties, my parentâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s absolutely will not take them. The first time my boyfriend and i went on a plane together I called my sister and we made a pact that if anything should happen we would take care of each otherâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s babies. That means have them babies live with us, no rehoming... funny since she has 4 cats and a dog and I have three cats and a dog... That would make 2 dogs and 7 cats!! Holy Shamoly LOL

We had to have wills drawn up when we first started the adoption process 25 years ago. It's definitely time we updated them.

Hubby had a will for most of his life.

But, we found out that when you get married, your will becomes null and void, so he had to do a new one and at the same time, I did mine first...(this was 2.5yrs ago for my first will)

We did it mainly due to our children.... long story short, I didn't want to risk either of them being put into foster care....so there's quite the specifications on where my children are to go should something ever happen to me. That was my main reason and concern.

My husband and I both have wills because we each have children from a previous marriage. We are down to two cats, and we haven't made a provision for them. Maybe we both won't go at the same time and whoever lives longest gets to take care of the cats.

My late husband and i have had wills for a long time now, and when he passed i had to make a new one.

This one now instructs that my cats ashes are to be mixed in with mine, then we get scattered all together at a pet cemetry, and i have the music picked to play me in and out at my funeral

this is an excellent idea. I haven't made a will up, but I have left instructions with my lawyer for my cat's care. I don't really care what happens with my material stuff.

I have a will - a revocable trust actually. Cost me a bundle to get it done way back when!

It's been 12 years so I should probably review it and update it.

The cats I have now are all fosters, but they are in my direct care, so I guess if something were to happen to me.... I should make provisions for their direct care.

I know my boyfriend would take care of them. He had asked me - while his precious Cato was still alive - that if anything happened to him that I would look after kitty. Of course I said yes... and I would have.

I have a will that includes my cats. A tip for those that don't know. When you make your will out to include your pets, do not put their names. That will will only be legal and binding for pets named. It's better to put a statement such as "any pets that I may have in my care at the time of my death." That includes current and future pets.

It is desperately important for everyone to make a will. No verbal agreement within a family is legally binding, and may well be put aside or ignored by the courts. And in some countries inheritance law is very definitive on who gets what and in what proportion, and you must specify everything. And even if you do not much care what happens to your stuff, without a will your family can be put to all kinds of expense, even being forced to store your belongings until a court decides who should have what. Since coming to live in France, I have had to have two wills, one under French law and one under UK law, although all my bequests in both countries are the same, a few charities and then everything to my daughter. Her tax position would be quite different without a will.

It is very dangerous to assume that you don't need one, however young you are.

We have a will but it doesn't include our kitties. Once we have our baby, we will update the will to include our child and make provisions for the cats too.
