Okay before i begin i will admit i was a little less than nice in this situation but this is the second time this has happened and it is on my last nerve.

I take public transpo to work. I have to take 2 buses so i buy a little swipe card instead of using cash. It saves money. Anyway usually on my second bus (which i catch at a transpo center) the driver is away from the bus. I just get on, swipe my card and go to my seat. Like many others i wear head phones to listen to music. I do this every day and have done so every day for months and months (ect) and never once has a single driver said a word to me. Except one.

A week or so ago as usual i board the bus, swipe my card, mind my business. When i try to get off the bus (always by the back door) the driver refuses to open the door and makes me come to the front of the bus claiming i did not pay. So i swiped my card again and got off the bus fuming...

Well today the same thing happened. Only this time he was at the bus when i first got on so there was no reason he couldnt have waited to turn the box off. I showed him that i had the card which is of course prepaid but This time i refused to swipe my card a second time because he keeps harassing me about something that is his fault. Now if he were nice about it i would have swiped my card, but he isnt...so im not.

Anyway am i wrong, or is this guy ridiculous?

Edit: Just to clairify. The card has no money or points or anything like that on it. It is a card i buy weekly that allows the rider unlimited rides. The swipe is just to count as "Paid" when you get on the bus.

file a complaint.

sounds like a bully who gets amusement out of targeting people and harassing them.

I did file an online complaint, and if it happens again i am going to have my hubby call and tell them one of their employees is harassing his wife and that i called him in tears and blah blah (though it is doubtful the fool could make me cry) lol but next time im paying more attention to the bus number and such!

I am just so annoyed. I ride 4 buses a day...which means i deal with 4 drivers a day...he is the ONLY one who has ever given me a problem.

I would report this to the bus company and let them know the date and times this happened (they can trace who was the bus driver at that time).

I hope they do trace it back to him. The more i think about it the more it makes me angry. I mean i got on at the very first stop. The driver leaves the bus for a few minutes then comes back and asks for fairs (I swiped my card before he walked away from the bus) If he were that concerned about me paying my fair, then wouldnt he have said something BEFORE the bus left? Both times he waited until we got to my stop! grr

When you swipe the card, does that mean paying twice?? If you are paying twice, I'd definitely complain...

Yep, keep complaining. Let the bus company know the dates, times, bus# is you remember it (write it down maybe) and they'll know the driver and should hopefully deal with him. My friends and I had some major issues with buses on New Years Eve, mainly 2 buses who wouldn't pick us up (at the end/start of the line), then no for over an hour at 1:30AM (we finally got a cab). The 2nd bus driver who wouldn't pick us up was really rude to us and I made note of the bus # and included that in my complaint and asked them to deal with the driver appropriately. I don't take kindly to rudeness. They mailed be 3 bus passes, which doesn't cover the cost of the cab ride but it helps. They listened.

Good luck!

Easy solution. Get on the bus, sit in a sit up front until the driver gets on the bus and then swipe your card.

I wonder if every swipe counts as a passenger and he's trying to beef up his totals. Could be his route is in danger of being eliminated unless he has more riders?

That's no excuse for his bullying of course. I'd definitely complain about that...

it doesnt mean paying twice to re swipe my card. I refused to do so because of his attitude and threats.

Sitting in the front or back of the bus makes no difference. Either way i have to trip over people to pay and risk losing my seat if the bus is crowded.

The swipe is to count passangers but there is no way the route is at risk of being shut down. it is one of the more popular routes and it isnt his only route. Our drivers switch buses and routes through out the day so it had nothing to do with his numbers.

Thank you all for your responces.

Today there was a different driver. I did swipe my card for her. She wasn't rude.

I don't take well to being bullied. I'm bad at keeping my mouth shut when harassed. lol
