Vibes for Alli please

Alli is a 10 year old calico we have at our shelter. She seemed fine last week. Then Sunday I noticed she was thin and just not her usuall grumpy self. She is not eating or drinking. I gave her sub-q and force fed her on Sunday. Then off to the vet we went last night. The vet took some blood & I will find out today what is going on, but she does not look good. I gave her more sub-q last night & force fed her. She seems able to keep down what she is being fed, but really has no interest in eating or drinking. I am very worried we might lose her, please send healing vibes for this gal.

Thinking of Alli, and bless you and your shelter for caring for her so well. Kidney disease comes to mind, and/or hyperthyroid. How long has she been in the shelter?

Kidney disease is a good possibility. I wasn't sure about hyperthyroid because she is not eating at all, and I thought they ate a lot?

I'm not sure but she has been with us at least 6 months. She generally has not been happy since coming to the shelter. She has been grumpy with us and likes to smack us when we clean her cage. So I knew this Sunday when I was able to pick her up with no argument that she was not feelig well.

Just talked to the vet. Blood work looks mostly normal. Slightly elevated white blood cell count, so hopefully this is just an infection. The hope is that this is not cancer. Keep those good vibes, thoughts, prayers coming for her. (I may take her home for a couple days to make sure she is getting what she needs.)

Prayers for her.

Alli, somewhere, somehow, please know that there are prayers and vibes going out that some special person, someway, discovers that you are available and will take you to your true home. Surely Heaven will not ignore such a lovely cat. You already have such wonderful people who care so much about you and want the best for you - please, little darling, don't lose hope

I decided not to take her home because if she has something contagious I don't want my cats to get sick. So instead i went to the shelter before work to force feed her and giver her amoxi.

Please keep the vibes & prayers comming for Alli. Over the weekend I took her home. She went to the vet on Friday because there was no improvement. They heard a slight weezing in her breathing, but more blood work & x-rays did not reveal any thing other than elevated Nutrophils. So she still has not official diagnosis. The two best possibilities are an infection, or lymphoma. So she has been started on Prednesolone & a pain pill along with upping her sub-q fluids. So she is getting sub-q, amoxi, pred & force fed twice a day & pain pills as needed. This is far too much care required for her to stay at the shelter. So I decided it would be best if I took her home, in addition if it is lymphoma, she will at least have spent her final days in a loving home.

What a loving caring person you are Angie. Alli couldn't be in better hands, even if these are her last days, they are going to be spent surrounded by love and care. Bless you, you Angel.

We had to send Alli (& another cat) over the bridge last night. I will post for her & Samson (the other cat) in the bridge when I am feeling a little stronger.
