With all Sasha's problems keeping him away from the house lately, Marlow has been filling in as best he can. We can't be sure if he's happy that Sasha's away or he realizes that were short on cat love. Since he can't tell us we decided to go with cat love.

This morning he jumped into the stool next to me at breakfast. He had ideas about Becky's bacon sandwich. I started petting, stroking and scratching him from head to tail. He sat there and took it all. He even "leaned in" for some.

For those not familiar with Marlow, he was a 'do not get near me semi feral taken in two months ago

This might be just what he needed to realize that loving is OK.

Remember, though, he might not be happy when Sasha returns - they really hate the smell of vet when sick ones get back home. You will no doubt have a period of adjustment.

Good news about Sasha, too. It is wonderful to find a vet you can really trust.

Pretty soon, they'll be wrestling with one another and you'll be remembering the peace and quiet fondly!

Sounds to me like he's intuitive.
Kitties KNOW when we're upset and they know when we need them. I bet he is trying to make you feel better.

Marlow repeated this morning. Howerver, he was 'leanin' when I was not "lovin' and fell off the stool. Of course he got up walked away with a "I meant to do that" look on his face.

I'm ready if he does it again tomorrow. I have a new brush at hand. He may get his first 'brushin'.

In other news, Sasha is still at the clinic. XX

That's great. It is an opportunity for the two of you to bond further.

Marlow submitted to a good brushing this morning. His very first! Neither Becky nor I had ever laid more than one stroke on him before. He laid there and rolled side to side getting it all over. You should have seen the brush when we were through.

Sasha is home again tonight. The next days may tell if this episode is behind us.
