Kato had a couple of accidents in his bed. It had been wash a couple of time and was all lumpy, etc. We decided to get a new one. We went to Pectco and paid a good price for a lovely soft bed. Kato has never like it.It sits in his favorite place. We thought he would start using it. O discover it slip around so we got some self paper and fabric glue it on the bottom. that is no longer the case. He still refuses to use it. it was undoubtedly made in china. I know about some things coming from china that are not good for our animal friends. Now I wonder if he trying to tell us something about the bed. My question should I talk with Pectco about the bed or let it go?

He probably would just prefer his old bed. Try putting a shirt that smells like you in the new one and see if he likes it then.

When I first bought a cat cave for Autumn she wouldn't go near it for a couple of weeks but then she started sniffing around it and finally went inside and now plays with it and in it frequently. I did use catnip too, maybe you should try that. Most cats can't say no to nip.

I did put a one of blouses in the bed. Catnip doesn't work with Kato, he doesn't like it. He will try after a long time; but I a have a feeling he doesn't like how it makes him feel. I am about ready to give him his old bed back. I hate to give him to him. He started yesterday trying to chew the wand toy so I put it away for a day or so. He is smart enough to figure out that, he will lost it if he bites the wand .

I don't know how Kato compares with other Bengals, but he smart, stubborn, prefers to hunt. When were traveling he spent 90% of his awake hours hunting under the motor home or in the area he could reach. It either left or Kato caught him. He didn't bring his catches to us as he knew we take them away so he play with them and eat them. He caught snakes, lizards, birds, mice, chipmunk & a coot. When I was on the Bengal forum he seem just an average Bengal. but what do I know, I have had only one. He isn't afraid of dogs and manage to put some in their place. He survive a Prairie Falcon attack. His harness probably save him. He tried his best to make friends with the a small group of deer. He current altitude on cats is to challenge first as several cats attacked him when he was a kitten. His current vet's comments were he a handsome fellow, he's quit a character and he is stubborn. I hate to think what he would have been like had we not neuter him. He has a number of traits of the wild cat which is why I try to trace what cats went into his makeup.

There's a great Bengal breeder near my house that I try to keep tabs on but if I were to get a cat now I would be more likely to adopt from the shelter... working there lately just makes me want to take them all home

if we lost Kato or could get another cat, I would look into the Bengal recuse. Kato has been a joy to us. If we hadn't been careful we might have had him stolen on our trips. I know of one time he would have been gone if we hadn't been there. I finally just took him from the man who held him for about 1/2 an hour.

More antics by Kato. yesterday I told how he tried to chew off the string of the DA mouse. so I put it away in the drawer, close it, I thought. This morning DH said he was making a lot of noise in the room. I was up (I couldn't sleep. I found the mouse outside the drawer hanging from the wand which was inside the close drawer. I sure like to know how he did. One nice thing he didn't chew off the mouse. I reward with playing with it.
This after noon we had company to see the Bengal cat. Of course he showed off until the gentleman took out his small camera. At that point Kato disappear. He is still refusing to use his bed.
One important trait I forgot to mention he has a TEMPER. Look out.

Neko wouldn't sleep in her new bed either. I tried washing it (washing machine and then air dry) and I believe the smell of the detergent reminded her of everything else in the home ie. our clothes, bed linens, towels, etc. Its the petstore smell she didn't like. She likes her bed now, but of course prefers the big human bed the best!
