There is one animal out there that gives me krazy chills up and down my spine every time I see one. I don't understand why I fear this animal so much. Just the face isn't so bad, but when you see it's arms, and rest of its body, I get this horrid irrational fear inside me.

The three toed sloth. It freaks me out really bad. Never seen one in person, only on tv and in pictures. They are scarier to me on tv seeing them move, then in photographs. Their super long arms, and human body, and almost human face, it's wrong. The fear is irrational I know, but I can't help it.

Do you have any animal that you are absolutely scared of for no good reason? Or for a good reason. Dogs intimidate me, but I've been bitten by a few as a kid. One jumped over the neighbors fence as I walked to school in 3rd grade to bite me on the butt. Big HUGE white fluffy dog. I got sent home from school because of the bite, and had to walk by the same fence and same dog, I ran, straight into the house from before that fence!

Be safe

I am afraid of snakes for no good reason. I have never been attacked by one and don't remember ever seeing one in person. I just am totally afraid of them and of getting bitten by one. I would never hurt one tho but would run like the wind if I met up with one :-)

Like you I get intimidated by dogs. I love them, but recently had a bad experience with a Jack Russell.

I don't think any animal revolts me, is a spider an animal? Not the usual kind, but big black furry ones........oh I just got a chill!!

Did anyone do anything about that dog? I can't imagine anyone's parents being ok with their child being bitten.

I really can't think of any animal or insect.
My irrational fear (phobias) are heights and deep water (having nearly drowned a couple times).
I do however rather dislike earwigs, certain types of pest roaches, and centipedes. I don't want any of those on me - I can tolerate them all in their natural environment outside or contained. Several species of predatory beetles are creepy, too. Their jaws and speed kind of bother me.
I used to have a strong aversion to larvae and maggots but I got over that since they're reptile food sources.

Spiders!!
Even if i see them in a video game i am playing i get the shivers even though they are not real.

If i see a spider itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s normally followed by a shriek and me running away screaming for help. As much as i hate them and as much as they make me feel sick i get really mad if someone kills one. My boyfriend have had more than one fight over me screaming and crying, him rescuing me and then me complaining he killed it.... sheeeshhh... men huh Lol.

I even had a pet spider once, Fredericka if anyone remembers my posts about her. She lived outside my front door and everyday i ran out of the house screaming and ruffling my hair, neighbors laughing, i fell a few times too lol but i wouldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have her killed.

I didn't think of inscets... I agree with beetle jaws, spiders freak me out too, only if they are on me or on something I need.

The dog didn't break my skin, luckilly, but left a large welt, and it bruised really good too. I only remember the dog coming at me from over the fence, I remember being on the ground on my stomache with his teeth on my cheekie. I don't remember getting up, or the walk to school. I remember the nurse looking at it, and my embarrassment over that. I remember he telling me I was going to be fine, but I should go home anyway, and I remember running past that fence or taking crossing the street to go by it. As for anything happening to the dog, I don't remember, nor do I remember my mom's reaction. Funny what details stick with us, when others don't.

Be safe.

PS I do have a completely irrational fear of heights, to me that is really dumb since I LOVE to climb. Climb rocks, trees, what ever, but once I am up there, I am paralyzed. I feel like any little breeze will make me fall, so when I do find myself up high, I usually lay down as far away from the edge as possible. I get sweaty cold hands thinking about it, and watching people up high on tv, I have to close my eyes. That's pretty irrational. I want to bungee jump and sky dive (tandom as I am afraid I will pass out and not pull the cord).

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Bugs any and all kinds of bugs I hate them I have my Adidas sandals out at all times because if I see a bug Im going to smash it to tiny bits and gloat about the fact that I am a mighty bug killer!!! I HATE bugs!!!

I also dont really care for small dogs especially shi tzus I was bitten by two when I was younger and never liked small dogs since then. Im happier walking by a snarling rabid rottie than a ankle biting yorkie!! Hmmm yet for some reason I own a mini doxie...I must like him because he thinks he is a rottie and likes to be the guard dog protecting everyone...You cant walk into my house without getting a thorough once over by Franklin and if he doesnt like you...you know it!

I was like that, too. (don't climb around on things anymore, back and health issues don't really allow it) I could climb up canyon walls and trees with no problem, though I wasn't usually afraid in them since I figured they weren't going anywhere. Ladders on the other hand... I don't like watching people up high on tv, either.

Oh, and ladybugs do bite!

I do not like the bug houses at zoos. I am a bit scared of apes.

But Komodo dragons really freak me out...
I think they are amazing creatures and I love dinosaurs - but! Dinosaurs are all extinct so I don't have to worry about them eating me.

Spiders aren't an animal but I can't look at them on tv or in photos, let alone seeing one in the house. I'll still wake whoever is in the house at any time of night to kill a spider for me. If someones killing a spider and it looked like it fell I need proof to make sure it's good and dead or I won't be able to settle down. Ugh, I've got the willies just typing that now...

You know, killerapple, there really aren't too many Komodo dragons in the Midwest

I have a totally irrational fear of snakes---can't look at a picture of one, can't watch one on tv or movies. I've never been bitten by one and have only seen one "in the wild" a few times. It's just a fear that I've always had for some reason.

I am not fond of snakes. I give them wide berth when I see them. I attribute this to my Dad who probably got it from his Mom who had been known to back up and run over one repeatedly to make sure it was dead.

There was one occasion when a green snake, all of a foot long, got run over by our mailbox. I couldn't step over it. I had to step into the road and walk around it.

Nephew has no fear. While in the Marines, he was often called upon to remove them from foxholes and barracks.

Spiders. Even a picture of one will make me break out in a cold sweat and make my heart race. I had to cover the picture on the can of spider spray with a piece of duct tape because the picture freaks me out. Accidently walking through a spider web will nearly make me pass out (and I've even pee'd my pants from it!) I've been afraid of them my whole life....and now even worse since my brown recluse bite of '04.

Animals are the one thing I'm NOT afraid of! Despite having had my face badly damaged by a dog, I still love dogs--I just don't put my face in theirs anymore. I'm not crazy about bees, as I'm allergic, and can't take Benadryl, but I admire them--interesting little creatures.

I am terrified of heights, especially suspension bridges and mountains (oh, and airplanes!). I can get on ladders--some people I know who are afraid of heights can't--but I'm not crazy about ladders. I think it's not so much a heights thing, but I get a bit of vertigo, and I'm a klutz; I don't trust myself up there.

This is going to be a strange and unusual one: I have a fear of fish. Each time I see a fish I get chills, even if it's at a pet store or a farmers market where the fish are alive and sold for food, it doesn't matter, I always get chills and just want to get away. The way they stare is soo creepy to me. And even worse than a live fish for me is a dead fish, like at some pet stores where the fish die and they leave the cadaver there and it is almost starting to decompose: GROSS, if I see that when I'm at petsmart, it's a guarantee I'll have nightmares about fish. One recurrent nightmare I have had with fish has been that they get wings and they learn to breathe air with their gills, and they are all around the atmosphere where I can't escape touching them even if I tried.
