Okay just thought I would update everyone!
The reason the tooth broke is because of a wisdom tooth causing so much pressure it made the cavity fracture. It hurts like the dickens I know that! But right now I am on antibiotics and pain killers. And after I am currently in the process of getting an appointment set up to have my wisdom teeth cut out. Unfortunately the dentist couldnt do too much for the tooth which sucks a lot!
I belong to a program that helps low income people get medical care and they are making my appointment for the surgery so I wont have to pay a dime for it which will be amazing! I just need to get it done ASAP! I just know I am miserable and very irritable which has been fun. But I'm staying with my boyfriends family because the medicines make me feel crappy and I dont want to stay alone. Plus his mommy takes care of me
LOL! (would stay with my mom but then I wouldnt have internet and that would drive me crazy... which is sad... )
Luckily I have a boss who is great and let me just not come in until later after my dentist appointment the other day and is very flexible with how much time I need off for the surgery and not worrying about too much notice! Yay!

his parents house is only about 15 minutes from mine so I have been going by after work and checking on them and refilling their bowls and stuff. I am hoping to go back home and stay the night tomorrow night but I dont know if I will be able to or not. As for when I have my surgery I will have my exroomie go by and check on them most likely.

Watch out when taking some of the store brands for tooth pain. Ambesol is really good and it works. But it doesn't work for very long. And then you have to use it more. And more. And......

I had a tooth problem with a back molar (caused by a wisdom tooth coming down into the roots of the back molar). The pain was really bad. And to wait out the time til my appt, I used Ambesol. And when it would wear off, I'd use more.

When I got to the dentist, he kept shooting me with Novacaine, but the Novacaine wasn't working right. What happened is that the Ambesol would kill the pain....for awhile. Then I'd use more. And more. The nerve didn't know what was going on and the Novacaine couldn't deaden the nerve at all anymore. I forget how many shots I got before the nerve finally calmed down. But it was a nasty experience.

I'm glad you're getting good care and that the wisdom tooth (and your broken tooth now, too) will be removed.

Ewwww that sounds icky! I am sticking to my prescription right now. It takes the edge off, I can still feel it some but its not horrible. But I have a horrid migraine now but I think its from holding my jaw oddly. I'm just so ready to get this taken care of!

I have permanent nerve damage from unnecessary removal of my bottom wisdom teeth..
Which became a lawsuit

I would not exactly say going to the dentist for 1 broken tooth and coming out needing 5 extractions is being taken good care of...

Why cant the tooth be fixed? Are you aware it cost less money to pull 5 teeth than it costs to fix 1? If i could turn back time i sure would have had a second opinion.. And i sure would have done a search on the history of the dentist that removed them

I have a very small mouth and the wisdom tooth is causing so much pressure on the tooth it made it break. They wont do anything to repair that tooth because 1)Half is missing and 2) the wisdom tooth will probably mess it up again. 3) the wisdom tooth is making my jaw extremely sore and I've been grinding my teeth in my sleep. And amazingly I will not pay a dime for this surgery to have them removed.

And I was told a few years back, around age 16 I'm now 22, (by a different dentist and my orthodontist) that my wisdom teeth needed to come out. They are causing my bottom teeth to shift badly and I am going to need braces again to fix them, which makes me very angry.

I'm sorry if this sounds really snappy.... the pain is getting to me I think...

Did you actually see the panoramic xray showing the wisdom tooth anywhere near the broken tooth that they claim they cant fix? I dont mean to sound snappy either but i do suffer with more than just a toothache for almost a decade now... I have lingual nerve damage... and you will be signing a consent form before the procedure stating that it is a risk of the surgery.. Paying or not..

Yes. I have the xray in my purse to take with me to the surgeon. Almost half of the wisdom tooth is laid into the molar. If there were a way to put it on here I would, but I dont have a scanner or anything and I doubt taking a picture would work out very well. Along with the tooth and jaw being so swollen I can barely move my mouth and its next to impossible to close my mouth all the way because its a horrid shot of pain any time my teeth touch in the back.

Have you tried warm salt water rinse? I know there is nothing worse than dental pain, except nerve damage that may occur as a result of w/t extraction. That xray must be a full mouth panoramic showing all 4 w/t in the same position? Did you have w/t pain before the tooth broke? Or is the pain from the broken tooth? Think of this- If you have just the broken molar removed then there would be plenty of room for that wizzie to come in?? Good luck to you whatever you choose to do. I just get freaked out when anyone on here mentions the dentist
Can you tell? lol

I am just completely terrified that if I just get them to pull the one bad tooth that the same thing is going to happen in a few weeks from another one. I would rather lose 4 wisdom teeth and the one broken one than risk losing 8. I know there are always risks with surgery but I have a good feeling my dentists have been right about this one. I have a very small mouth and my jaw is not aligned right to begin with. Infact they have to use the childs size trays on my mouth and xray thingy when I have them done. The adult size make my jaw pop out of place or tear up my mouth.
I should hear tomorrow when my surgery will be and how long I will be out of work. Just stinks cause I have a banquet to go to on Saturday and now I doubt I will be able to. Hopefully though!
