Female spraying

I know females can do territorial spaying just like males cats but do they look the same while doing it? I mean, do they do it with their tail up and quivering and squirt straight out? I'm asking because a friend of mine is trying to trap a feral she thinks is a female. She feels time pressured because kitten season is coming up fast. She saw the cat spray a bush today and was hoping that means it is a male rather than a female and so trapping quickly isn't quite as urgent. I told her females can spray also though. But I don't know if a female does it the same way as a male. If they look differently when they spray maybe she can still determine if it is female or male.

I just recently saw my first female full on sprayer... She did it just like a male only difference was the odur... a lot less

My Kandie did what I call the half spray lifted her rear up but did not move her tail fully out of the way

It looks exactly the same, I have one outside that is a sprayer. She'll even scratch at the ground after.

I have a female that was a stray until I took her in. She does the full out tail twitching, back legs prancing, spraying straight out. I never knew this either until I caught her. She likes to do it when I dont let her go outside and is mad at me.
