Mac question

Thread Starter
My Mac didn't come pre loaded with any serious word processing programs - just TextEditor which seems to be like notepad. I would like to make some business cards to attach to my art but am unsure of what software to get. I don't plan on having fancy cards, so any program that is free would be great.

Any tips and suggestions for software and anything else related to making business cards?

Not having a mac, I can't say how good the port is for it - but I do use it on linux. Try out openoffice. It's a project that's been around for a while and has a fairly larger user base - meaning more people to work on it and more to report bugs.

You may be able to just order them online through a place that will let you upload a photo and then let you customize the text. But that will cost a bit more of course than doing them yourself.

I'm not familiar with any free programs. Am a Mac user myself at home (PC at work) but have Office and design software.

Good luck!

Pages is the Mac equivalent to Word, and IMO much better than word. Your computer should have at least come with a free trial of Pages and Keynote (= PowerPoint). That stuff would be on the iLife discs that came with your Mac or iWork, not sure because it's been about 2 years since I bought a new Mac.

O/T but you can't buy Microsoft Office right now, or even upgrade it. Retail stores can still sell their copies, but Microsoft can't sell from their site or send more out. They finally got in serious trouble for stealing.
