My 14 yr old cat was changed from W/D dry to K/D wet food when the dr. did bloodwork and found kidney damage. He ate it good to begin with, but now I am having to really mess with him. I am interested in hearing what others feed their "kidney cats". Is it always commercial food or do some do home recipes with people food.
Thanks for any input.

Talk with your vet... many RX brands make kidney formulas ... When My Kandie(rb) needed Rx for her CRF ( only in bad infection times) she preferred Purinas NF ( it has been reformulated and many cats are not as happy) ... She ate alot of different foods : senior dry to raw ... for the last years she did canned and raw ( the latter ONLY should be under a VETs care )

It is really long but well worth reading the Crf sticky on the site

I try feed Milo all canned, half of the canned is k/d and the other is what ever low phosphorus stuff I can get.

However I ordered some phosphorus binders so hopefully I can get him onto some real wet food (and also raw)

I am so stressed now with my cat. His eating has just about stopped. The vet changed him to Purina NF and he has none of it. I have been able to give him some baked chicken or canned tuna, but he is having none of it this morning. I read about giving cats Pepcid and I am going to call my vet at his home today and ask about that. I tried two different kinds of Whiskas in the pull tab package and he won't even smell it.
Any suggestions. I am desperate.

Yes I did read the link you put in the thread. I called the vet this morning after eight. I posted an update there under another thread Pray for Speedboat
Thanks for your input.
