So we have had Clyde for almost 3 years. He's always had one really weepy eye, which I assumed to be herpes. However, after a vet visit, the vet decided it was a blocked tear duct because there wasn't anything wrong with the eye...just that there wasn't anywhere for the tears to go.
Anyway, within the past 2 or 3 months, his eye seems to be totally cleared up. Sometimes I see a little moisture down the track by his nose, but he doesn't have the crusty, dry brown goopy eye that he's always had. And he just looks a lot better in general, beautiful coat, etc.
Do blocked tear ducts spontaneously become unblocked? Would he just be grooming himself more? And why would a cat that's probably about 10 years old suddenly get *more* healthy? Just curious...
