Showing after being Altered

Wrinkles was altered yesterday and had some kind of reaction.
Her right paw was very swollen and she had hives.
She still has a cough and sore throat from the tube that was in her throat.
The vet said it will be ok for me to show her on Jan 30th and 31rst.
We did a lapo spay which heals faster.
She now weighs 5.9 pounds.
She is acting fine and wants to play.

You have 2 weeks, you can make the decison on whether to take her or not by Tuesday or Wed (25/26th). I'm sure she will be fine.

Why didn't you wait till after the 30/31st to spay her?

If I had waited the next show is Feb 13th and 14th.
The only break would have been in April.
I have until Jan 24th to enter the show.
She will be 7 months on Jan 30th and weighs 5.9 pounds now.
Here are some pics of the surgery and her paw that was very swollen yesterday.
Here are pics of her from last night also.

Ouch - poor baby (with the foot). That doesn't look comfortable. Seems Sphynx have a tendency to react more to things then normal cats do!

To me, Wrinkles looks just fine and a very small scar from her surgery. I know when I retire my girls, I will do my best to get them the laser surgery. Of course, that's a ways away yet, but it's always good to see someone elses experience with it.

Off topic, I just watched a show we taped of Cats 101, which was of Sphynx...I am so excited for the future with kittens....this breed is so unbelievable. I am so in love with ours, can't wait till we purchase more LOL

Sphynx do react to meds.
Ketamine can kill them if used.
The vet just called and aked how she is.
Her paw looks normal now.

That's a relief!! I know you are doing the best job you can with her, and yes, Sphynx seem to be a little more sensitive. Maddie had a lump under her skin from a vaccine and I was freaked cuz it was there almost 2 months. The vet said most times it takes 60 days to go down. On our babies, you see so much more than you would on a furry kitty, so as soon as we see something off, we notice immediately.

I do love Wrinkles, such a sweetie

Thanks Susan
I gave the vet a list of meds not to use on sphynx.
Laser is not the same as lapo.
Wrinkles has 2 punctures.
One above and one below her navel.
Wrinkles is sleeping next to me right now.
The vet called and asked how she is.
My Coco non sphynx had a lump from a Depo shot that lasted 2 months before it went away.
I am having bad luck with getting another sphynx right now.
I saw that cats 101.
There is going to be a great Persian being shown soon.
My friend is her breeder and she is hot.
She is expected to be a top cat in CFA.
He is a long time Persian breeder.

I think she should be find by then. With traditional spays the stitches are removed after 10-14 days. So she should be almost 100% by then.

I am sorry that it is so hard for you to find a good breeder.

It is the same this way also.
Cleo was done the reg way before I got her and my Meeko had pyometra.
Both of then had disolving stitches also.
I think it is better that way.
We did call Cleos breeder but he is in Japan right and is very busy.
There is a TICA meeting over there.

Glad she is back to normal, she really got more color since I have last seen her as far as pictures. Thanks for posting pictures!
My Sphynx was spayed with a laser, it was an uneventful surgery and she recovered quickly, stitches were internal, she has a small mark on her belly, which has long disappeared. Sphynx are always a big hit with the staff, they seem to get some extra attention I think

Cleo has a scar you can really see but Wrinkles will not have a scar like that.
She has 3 cuts.
One above navel and one below it.
She has disolving stitches inside and glue on the outside.
Wrinkles still is getting darker.
They all love her at the vets.
The vet knows a am going to get another sphynx.
Wrinkles temperature was 93 after the surgery and she was put in a incubater.
The surgery part was fine.
It was her paw that was huge and the hives she had.
She has scabs where she was cut now and some lumps.
