Mouse may be coming back.

I spoke with my daughter about Mouse last night. She feels that Mouse isn't doing well and seems unhappy and scared. She has been with Rose for only one week. She won't come out of Rose's room, which is in the attic. (If she starts making paper flowers and hanging them on the walls, we're getting her out of there fast.) If Rose forcibly brings her downstairs, she runs right back to the attic. We are thinking that, if she is just going to stay in the one room, she may as well be back at our house where she is as happy as she can be. Also, she still doesn't like the other cats. Rose wants to try it for one more week and if no change, bring her back.

I am asking for prayers that Mouse will learn to live in her new home and be happy there and have a better life.

Ha Ha, loved the reference to one of the saddest books I ever read! I hope Mouse starts feeling better - some kitties just take awhile. I've got one like that, and she has adjusted...

Thanks for the update on Mouse! Tell your daughter to stop forcing Mouse to come downstairs, that should be done only when Mouse wants to do it. It can take a cat a long time to adjust to something new.

When I was in college many moons ago, I took my dog with me. He didn't adjust well at all and missed our other dogs, so my parents had to come pick him up. I knew it was best for him to stay at home. Good for your daughter for trying, but it might be the best thing for Mouse (& the stress on your daughter) to come home.

Thanks for the support. I spoke with my daughter last night and she said Mouse seems a little better and came downstairs on her own for a little while the previous night. I am going to visit on Tuesday evening and if she isn't adjusting better I think I will bring her home. I will let you know.

Bridget, I think you will be able to judge whether she is okay or not. We'll support you either way!
