Our female Ragdoll, Annie, has very active and obviously vivid dreams. When she is in a deep sleep, she will often vocalize and even move her legs as if running. I can only imagine she is dreaming about chasing giant mice or running through kitty Nirvana (perhaps one and the same)!

Do your cats have active dreams? If so, what do you think they dream about?

Other than the occasional twitching, the only thing I've ever noticed Holland doing in her sleep (and it has to be a DEEP sleep) is reverting to kittenhood and sucking. It's pretty cute, actually.

Aya does that twitching pseudo chasing thing. And she's an indoor kitty who's never had the opportunity to hunt anything bigger than our over-sized Okinawan cockroaches.

Our family cat Midori sleeps very soundly then all of a sudden her head shoots up and she squeaks herself awake. -Bad kitty dreams?

My RB kitty Fred would do that. Kick his legs like he was running, growl, howl, paw at the air, lie on his back and shadow-box, all manner of silliness. We called it chasing moon rabbits. He was always fine when he woke up.

My Wiggies has done that a couple of times. He wakes up very disorientated and looks like he's had a bad dream, poor baby. I do believe that if they can have dreams, then they can definitely have nightmares too.

All of them will twitch and move sometimes. Tomas will growl and whimper - I always wake him up and cuddle him since he seems so distressed from those dreams.

Siri makes loud suckling noises, moans, and occasionally growls.

Larry was doing this last night. He was next to me on the couch, all stretched out on his back, toes curled, and then he started making little soft sounds and his whiskers were twitching. He was so fast asleep!

Sometimes, when he's super fast asleep, his tongue will be out a little. And it stays out when he wakes up. He'll just be looking at me with his tongue out - it's hilarious!

Cats I've had usually just twitched as they dream, but I had one that plainly meowed. It was so weird...

I love watching kittens suckle dream.

LOL, Bella was snoring so loud last night I had to turn the TV up. And then her tail got three times bigger than usual and she woke up and gave me an annoyed look

Mojo was sleeping on my lap last night and her tail was swishing and her little mouth was going. It was so cute!

Trent and Mojo both snore, if they are in the right (wrong?) position. They must get it from their Meowmy.
