Here... or There... Hmmm
Well, I dont' really have one for this month but

Right before Christmas we did get 2 Nikon lenses normally $250 each, marked $199 each for $19.07 each! So cool especially since we had just gotten me a Nikon!

Then you already know about my killer deal on the bags of cat food, got 15 bags normally $6.99 each for between .19 and $1.19 each. Depended on the week! I donated a few to a couple local cat rescues and Kitters has been eating the rest. Thought she was having allergies to her previous food so we switched her to that instead.

And those TimTam coupons are going to come in MAJOR handy and those will be quite the deal itself.

Oh and our local market was doing $50 gift cards, knock $5 off, so we paid $45, then we'd use a $5 off $25 coupon twice, and ended up paying $35 for $50 worth of stuff, plus all the regular coupons we'd use! That was a great deal!

I'll have to look and see what else I know we got a GREAT deal on. DH is a huge shopper and deal dude, so there is crap all the time getting delivered that I don't even know how much it was...

Ohh... one of the other BEST DEALS ever we got... I ended up paying $35 out of pocket for our Wii with game & Wii Fit. And when we got the house, Ended up paying out of pocket less than $700 for our brand new washer and dryer set that was ON SALE for $1100 (which was a deal itself). Those are some of the SUPER GREAT deals we got recently!

Nice deals! I hope we inspire others.

We got mom a $130 digital camera for FREE! Actually the first time we got paid $10 but we picked up the wrong memory and spent that $10 on the new one. lol

Instead of bragging, why not share some of your methods? I know a lot of people are using blogging communities for this, and of course it really depends on where you live. Rural areas are kind of hard to work with.

Because bragging leads to people asking questions.
When I share methods they get lost.

The Halls are on sale $1 and there is a coupon online for .50 and my store doubled it to $1.

Johnson & Johnson is offering a rebate deal called Beauty for All Ages. Several drug stores are offering 50% and buy one get one deals. Pair it with coupons online and inserts to lower your out of pocket cost. Rite Aid offers a $5 off $25 order or if you register online $5/$20 order.

All other deals I listed involved using a Buy one Get one Free coupon with a Buy one Get one Free sale making both items free.

My cousin does this and she has volumes and volumes full of coupons. She has them all in order by item and by dates. Each week she cleans out everything, moves old stuff out and new stuff to the front.

She even trades coupons on-line. I sat down with her in October and was completely amazed by what she does. She blows me away.

I think what completely shocked me is that at times the store actually owes her money after she has checked out. Of course I didn't believe her at first, so she pulled out her receipts to prove what she was saying.

Yes lots of times after rebates at Rite Aid they pay me to shop. I didn't understand how at first but I joined a few forums and see how they do it. It's a math game and sometimes you have to purchase items you wouldn't think of using. I did get a lot of medicine to get us through the winter and it's paying off. We have tried 3 different brands, all of which was free after rebates.

It does take time and patience. Sometimes you have to switch brands or hit 4 different stores. All the stores we shop at are very close together. Mom watches our son and we do the coupon shopping every Sunday.

Unfortunately the only deals we get here are watching for sales, and I use coupons that come in the paper or mail.... I also get free trial products like a pkg of 2 arthritis tylenol (convenient for the purse), small sample shampoo, etc.

We don't seem to have the outrageous deals or double coupons, etc. in Canada like you guys in the US

OH, and to add in, we don't save extra money.... ok, an example is the best way to explain it:

I have a coupon for $1 off a package of cereal bars. The cereal bars are on sale and cost 0.95..... I do not get the 5cents back. Even if I bought the cereal bars and another item, they don't subtract the 5 cents leftover from the coupon.

Most places here don't either Chris with the .05. It depends on the store and cashier. 99% they adjust the price of the coupon.

Did you know you could email manufacturers and ask for coupons? I emailed/contacted 10 and about 4 are sending me coupons.

My cousin has a few stores that she said will not do the .05 cents thing either. She's actually had a few fights with cashiers as well over stuff like that. I can't remember which store Kmart or Walmart sent her a letter telling her she will not receive cash back anymore.

I'm fascinated by what she does but I bet the cashiers cringe when she walks through the door.

When she does her shopping she will hit 5 or 6 different places in one day of shopping depending on her coupons. I can't see myself doing that, I want in and out- one stop shopping. But I do admire what she does, IMO it's a gift.

I got $160 of cat food for $120 last week - that was a deal for me. I bought my first bag of 10kg cat food and the pet shop threw in some for free

Have you tried www.save.ca ? I go there and get tons of coupons. I also go to www.mysavings.com and sometimes they have coupons there. It usually redirects you to save.ca but with a coupon that isn't available without going to mysavings first.

This Sunday coming up (Jan 24) I am going to get some really good deals on stuff at work. I currently work at Claire's Accessories and our store is closing down on January 28. Right now the entire store is 75% off, but as of Sunday everything will be 12 items for $6. I have about 70-80 items on hold that I am going to buy. A lot of it is for my mom and sister who love that store.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I wish I could catch deals with coupons but I dont get a newspaper and the stores around here stopped accepting coupons printed off your computer because of coupon fraud. I do get really lucky sometimes because Weis and Giant have club cards (free) and I use them and normally ONLY buy stuff thats on sale with my card. I also get gas points at both stores and right now I have 40 cents off every gallon at Weis. Right now Im thanking heavens that I just spent 200 bucks there and can get good gas in my car for 10 cents cheaper than regular! (my car doesnt like regular gas it runs funny on it and makes weird noises but runs like a gem on the good stuff.) I just got a good deal on 99% fat free Purdue chicken breast. It was originally $9 for 1.7 lbs and I got 2 packages for $3.40 each. We also got a good deal on soda, Yoohoo boxes (48 juice boxes) for $9. Italian bread was on sale for 99 cents instead of 3.50 a loaf. Plus I got some coupons in Banquet microwave meals for a couple cents off ketchup and some random other things. I spent 205.49 and saved 35 bucks just using my club card for savings. I just wish that I could use printed out coupons at the store because it would make our food allowance (county assistance) go a lot longer instead of us having to save money after grocery shopping because we dont know if we are going to need more chicken coffee milk sugar bread eggs and stuff like that. But its also nice to be able to get little things that we want instead of only have 50 bucks to buy groceries with.
BTW: those YooHoo boxes are YUMMYYYYYY I cant remember the last time I had a YooHoo

Have you double checked the coupon policy? 99% of stores now accept them. A few prefer coupons.com and redplum.com over smartsource.
If you have a dollar store around you they sell the sunday paper ( or ones with coupons in your area) for a discount price. Redplum just started putting their coupons in the weekly circulars. I have a deal with two neighbors that I get their extra coupons. You can even email a manufacturer complimenting them on their product and 90% of the time they will mail you coupons. There are websites where you can trade/pay for coupons too. It comes in handy when you are getting the item for free. Have you checked out any forums out there? The news has been covering some sites like hot coupon world for instance. They also teach you the proper way to use the coupons.

Good Luck. Let me know if you need help. You are doing great without coupons I see.

As far as I've ever noticed, coupons always say "not to be used in conjunction with other offers, so you can't get a double discount if the coupon product happens to be on sale at the store.
