My all time favorite, translated from English into Russian and then back into English (or so I've heard)...

"The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

"The vodka is good, but the meat is bad."

Well, if you use Babel Fish it's not too bad: Spirit is willingly ready but flesh it is weak

But when you do the english-japanese-english you get: It heats heart truly and [re] physical weakness does

This is great way to pass the time!!
Which turns into:
"It is the large method this transferring time"

And I was just listening to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen so I did Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
And I got "As for this is there a substantial life? Is this exactly the imagination?"

You inspired me to do a common Aussie saying

flat out like a lizard drinking

becomes:
Like the thing where the lizard drinks level

You have to have your browser and OS set up for it. Likely you don't have the fonts, to start.

That said, I don't have scim in yet so I'm out. But I remember translating things by hand years ago and getting the weirdest stuff whenever there was slang. And worse, trying to make sure what I typed in Japanese wasn't all weird.

I wish I could remember what site it was a friend used to play around with... It translated the message though several languages and back (I want to say 10?). Much worse than being babelfished. It might have been lost in translation?

One of my favorite quotes, "Life is too short to drink bad wine."

Babelfish: Life to drink the bad wine, is short even excessively.

~~~~~
It is better to remain silent and appear stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Your mouth is opened, removing everything remains rather than doubting, silently, to be foolish, kind of it is good.
~~~~~

How empty are the lives of those who have never been blessed with the spirit of a little cat invading their hearts.

Mind of the small cat where the sky directly it invades the center is life of the person who is not praised under any condition how?

Good thing I don't need to communicate in Japanese to anyone - they'd think me very strange!

this is great! Looks like another great way to waste time! Or:
The large method of making time wasteful

Following on from wonderful NZ sayings, "get a big black dog up ya" comes back as "Profit do the melancholy where the top is large"
