Off to work in a bit...tonight I think we are going out for thai food. We found the BEST place

It is a little spicy but the pain in my mouth is worth it

Around 0 degrees today and rainy...not bad!

Good morning! TGIF indeed!!

After missing work yesterday due to a raging headache, I'm back in office this morning.

It's about 32 degrees right now, much better than the 20-somethings we've been having around here.

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday, so we're all getting together for lunch. My parents asked me to make this beef dish with beer and BBQ sauce. I've never made it before in my life and nobody seems to have a recipe for it...I guess my X-SIL made it for them years and years ago, but wouldn't tell Mom exactly how she made it. Surfed around the web and found something that I'm going to try. It's done in a crock pot overnight, then the meat is shredded and sandwiched in buns. I'm also making my 7-layer salad to go with. My sister is making mac and cheese and she ordered a small birthday cake for mom. My brother and his wife are coming, too, so we'll be a houseful. Wish me luck on that recipe....I have a feeling I'm going to need it! (I just hope it's edible!)

Morning,

I'm sitting at my desk getting ready to head off to work. Tre is curled up on my lap as usual. It's going to be 56 F and sunny today which is nice. I left from the gym in short sleeves yesterday and I wasn't cold walking back to the car.

I'm getting ready to leave for work shortly. I didn't get much writing done yesterday, so hopefully I can do a bit better with it today. I also need to try to talk to my group leader about a job after I graduate. He's pretty much said they would bring me on, but I'm not sure I'm a really good fit in my current group. I've talked to some other groups where my skills mesh better and they seem interested, but I need to be careful not to give the impression I'm trying to jump ship. I'm hoping that if I present it right he'll agree with me and I'll be free to pursue all possible leads without ruffling any feathers. After work, I'm going to go by the gym. I went in yesterday, so this should be a shorter workout. Just arms and maybe a little time on the elliptical.

Gooooooooddddddddd Morning Everyone!!!

Its a chilly day outside..Good news though no frost on the windows so maybe it wont be bitter outside!! I got an awesome phone call yesterday my food assistance came thru so today is grocery shopping day!!! I made my list last night and looked up some new chicken recipes and have some good ones to try out!! Im excited and the best part is because BF needs to go to Auto Zone I get to drag him to the store with me!! ) Happy Happy Day today!!!!

I don't have anything exciting to report, but I hope you all have Happy Fridays and Wonderful Weekends!

My Mom's birthday is this weekend as well (the 17th), so we'll be doing lots of eating and partying. WOO HOO!

I am sure I'll try a new beverage or three as well. LOL Here is the first new drink that I'll probably go with:

Scurvy
2 oz Banana liqueur
2 oz Vodka
Orange juice

Pour the banana liqueur into a glass. Add vodka and last the orange juice to taste.

I'm so happy it's Friday, my week was really uneventful but nice..Jake woke me up this morning at 6 am jumping up at my door

I just got up and pet him for about 30 minutes and then I was ready to start my day..
I have started making to do lists to keep myself organized and motivated and today's list is really full, but mostly with small tasks ..I'll probably play a game before I start it all though, because I haven't played anything all week..

Story of my life

So far I've gone to the school for a meeting about some testing my one daughter has been doing to see if she falls into the 'gifted' category, had to pick my other one up from school and take her for a cadet bush weekend, then went to the pet store to pick up feeders, back home for a quick bite to eat and now I'm off to do some groceries.

2 of the kitties have a vet appt this afternoon.... then I'm done for the day.

While its nice to have something to do aside from sitting at home, I find I get tired so easily because of my normal inactivity. I find I have to go go go or I will crash if I stay still for too long.

and on that note, off for groceries.

Hello All!!

We are in the midst of a January thaw-the temp outside is about 30-31F.
I've finally been able to try to work at getting the ice off the driveway but its overcast which doesn't help the melting.

I exercised this morning the cleaned up and drove over to the site of the second location of our store. The owners hope to start baking there in about 5 weeks!! Still lots to do though. Its a much bigger location but I'm staying at the orginal location for now.

Thats about all-I really should work on some of my business end of year stuff for tax purposes but am not really motivated.

Rented "The Hurt Locker" to watch tonite.

Today was a REALLY good Friday for me!!! Blake, my boyfriend, had his very last long day of chemo, only two short days left!

The doctor is pretty confident that all the cancer is taken care of! Two of the three markers are down and the third has a really long half life, so we won't know 100% on that one for awhile.
