Some basic background to start off. I feed chicken soup now i have both adult and kitten formula here. The kitten turns one shortly(like next mth) so i will run the bag till it's end and call it quits since that is the end of my kittens.
However, and this is where my dilemma comes into play, my almost 5yo(in Apr) abby tends to eat the kitten and not the adult formula.
While usually i would be concerned an adult cat would possibly chub up on kitten food, she hasn't at all, she is very lean, she has a bit of a time keeping weight on, her health is fine BUT we had an incident several years ago where she almost died(complications from her spaying, wicked infection) and since then her weight seems to be harder to maintain, she's pretty active too(she's the oldest of the 3 cats here)
I am trying to sort out what to do, i really do not want to continue purchasing the kitten formula, Phoenix which is the kitten is a BIG boy, not overweight just a classic male ragdoll and after he turns one isn't in need of a growth formula.
What kibble should i look into for abby though? is there a food that would be better for a cat to who clearly needs more protein/fat than an average indoor cat? she does eat wet food too, they all do.. however grain free will not work, i have tried a few over the years and nobody will eat them.
Thanks and i apologize for the mini novel LOL
