My daughter took Mouse home on Monday night. I rode along, as planned, and helped get Mouse settled. I was pretty encouraged, as she went all over Rose's room sniffing and didn't go hide or anything. Rose let two of the other cats in to check Mouse out. Mouse hissed at the kitten. Rose's other cat ran away as soon as she saw Mouse. There was no cat fight or anything though. I miss her a lot, but I was thinking this might truly be the best gift we could have given her.
Last night (Tuesday), Rose called me and said Mouse is absolutely miserable and howling. She was considering bringing her home shortly, if Mouse doesn't settle down to the new environment. I encouraged her to keep her till Friday and see how she is by then. Seems like since we started this we ought to at least give it more of a chance. I am hoping this will work out for Mouse. But if it doesn't, she can just come back.
