Google has an obsession with running water. So I decided after Christmas I would break down and get a fountain for him. Well I went to petsmart after work last week and there was one on the shelf and it was the only one of its brand and the price said $24.99. I thought AWESOME! So I took it upfront and it rang up as $54.99.... gah!
But I told them where it was and the manager said it was their fault and gave it to me for $25! I was sooo happy!

Google loves it! And so do I! There is usually food in the bowl.... but my fatties have already finished that bowl!

I have the same fountain - it is very useful but it is also a PITA to clean - I clean it all the time as it can get pretty yucky if it isn't cleaned. But having said that, it is easy to pull apart and wash in hot soapy water and put it back together.

The cats love it though - not just for drinking but for playing with the water!

One of my Rainbow Bridge cats, Max, would jump up on the sink in the bathroom. He was telling us to turn on the water. Then he would put his head down and drink from the running water. He wanted his water fresh from the faucet, not in a bowl.

Ootay (rb 5/09) also drank from the bathroom faucet. In her last years I had to lift her up, as she couldn't jump that high any more.

You can watch her here:

I'm so glad I got that on video, before I had to say goodbye

What a cutie that Ootay! I got Holland the Drinkwell fountain, which she really loves. I've tried to get her to drink from the faucet but it always freaks her out when I turn the water on.

Good they gave it to you for $25, it is often on sale here for 25 euros and I've never seen it much more expensive so I think $55 is a bit much !

Glad to hear your kitties love it.

I've had the same fountain for 5 years, even my foster kittens that were caught outside by the RSPCA liked it right away. They would totally freak out when I took the dome away for a moment to refill it, really funny (Our water ! Nooooes ! We'll die of thirst !!
The grey thing in the pic is their other water bowl

I had the same fountain and absolutely loved it! I had a party last Halloween and one of my drunken guests wrecked it.
We went out and bought the Petmate one because it was cheaper but it is not NEARLY as good.

More water is great for their health too!

I clean mine, I have two, every week. I love hearing them drink. Water is so important to cats!
