Hi everyone! Just stopping in to let you know my baby girl arrived last Wednesday!
Her name is Tressa Anne, she weighed 6lb 12.6oz and was 19.5" long.

Last week Monday I was feeling good, and even got a good report on my blood pressure at my 37 week appointment. Tuesday afternoon I started having contractions and went into the hospital that night. My blood pressure had gone way back up, so I was put on medication and admitted. She finally arrived Wednesday afternoon.

We had a rough start. Tressa was "stressed" at birth and spent her first 3 days in the NICU. They told me she had the cord over her shoulder and that the medication I was on for my BP sometimes stresses their systems. I didn't hear her cry but could see she was pink. I could only see a little of her chest because what had to be at least a dozen people from the NICU were in my room. They told me she was breathing and her color was good etc. Because of my blood pressure I was put on a strict 24 hours of bed rest continuing the IV medications. I didn't get to see her till the next day, but I was pretty drugged and out of it. Fortunately my nurse went over and took a few pictures and printed them for me.

The next day I was moved to the maternity floor and got to start seeing her. She was off the ventilator by 7 the day she was born, but had to stay there on antibiotics. They didn't start feeding her till Friday to allow that part of her to recover too. So I was discharged without her on Friday. DH and I spent the night in the Ronald McDonald room so I could try to nurse her. I'm still having issues with my blood pressure but we are now both home and doing much better! Because of the IV fluids and what not Tressa didn't get the normal start with feeding so nursing has been a confusing process to me. She does however love her bottle.
It was also difficult coming home with her because we'd never been alone with her at the hospital. She was released to us late Saturday straight from the NICU. But really I can't say enough for the nurses both on the Labor/Delivery and Maternity floors, or the NICU. They were really good to us.

That's pretty much it. It's been a LONG last week. DH and my mother have been wonderful through everything. I don't know what I'd have done without them.

Here are a few pictures for you:

My first time holding and seeing her in person:

Ready to go home:

She's a finger sucker. She was trying to hold my finger and suck hers at the same time this morning:

We were trying to get a picture of her with her eyes open more.
