Update on Fae

Well we got Fae to the vet yestarday evening after she started showing symptoms again on Sunday night. This time when she cleaned her bottom and um...lady parts, she would cry as she groomed. So i got on the phone right away to see what could be done. (nothing on a sunday night) She was still eating and drinking, and also using the litter box so it wasnt an emergency, but certainly urgent.

Luckly the vet office right near us was able to get her in the same day we called.

What we thought was a UTI is actually an infection in her uterus (i was planning on schedualing her spay in the next couple of months when i get my tax return). The vet was pretty surpised by this because Fae is so young (not even two) and a strictly indoor cat.

What we decided to do was schedual a spay for today at 2pm (so she is in surgery now). The hospital is being WONDERFUL and really working with us so that she could get the surgery and we could pay in a way that would be comfortable for us. They really went above and beyond to help my cat.

Please keep fae in your thoughs and send her vibes for a speedy recovery.

Also, for anyone not sure weather or not they want to get their cat spayed...i strongly advise that you do if at all possible. The cost of a spay on a cat who has an infected uterus is MUCH more than the cost of a regular spay and an infected uterus untreated is often deadly.

thanks for reading and showing concern for my Fae.

Thank you very much. After we are all paid up in the vet bill i think want to try to send the office some flowers or something

You certainly are on top of things. Kudos to your vet to allowing the easy payment system.

My cat Slick had an infected uterus also, and it was quite a bit more money wise.

When we have animals, we really have to take care of them just kids. We have eaten hamburger so we could have our cat attended to.

Keep us updated on Fae!

Yes the Animal hospital we brought her to is being wonderful. I am very glad they are working with us.

I got a call from her vet last night. She came through the sugery wonderfully (though her uterus was quiet yucky) and was awake and even using her litter pan by the time the vet was out of her meetings and had time to call.

She will spend the next few days in only one room (either our bedroom or the spare bedroom) so she can rest without being bothered by her brother. I am hoping she heals quickly so she can go back to being the amazing kitty she is

Thank goodness for a vet like that....so often you hear no payment no treatment...Even my vet now wants 50 % up front...for things that are going to be over a few hundred..
Here are some healing vibes for Fae's fast recovery

Yes they really went out on a limb for us. Payment plans are not usually something they do. The manager even told me her boss wasnt going to be happy but for Fae it could have been a matter of life and death. There was only about a 50% chance that just taking her home with anti biotics would have worked.

I am very thankful.
