You know, I've been really down, oh I guess for the past year probably....basically money issues, and the worries that go along with that, but I got a message on Facebook from a friend of ours that really put my problems in perspective.....

We've known this lady ever since @1990, and she's one of the nicest women you'd ever meet, at that time she had two young daughters, good kids, nice husband. In 1992 her husband passed away from cancer. In the ensuing years, the daughters grew up, and in the space of about three years both daughters married and mom remarried too.....A few years ago, her "new" husband was diagnosed with Alzheimers (for the love of God, I STILL can't spell it), and last summer she told us that he'd gotten really bad. This morning we recieved the message that he's in the hospital with pneumonia, and his doctors have told her that he could pass away at any time.......

Made me sit down and thing...you know, we take a LOT for granted, me especially.......don't have a lot, but have a roof over my head, my cats, and still blessed to be married to the one man that I truly, dearly love........

Life can be very rough sometimes. You just have to take away the positives and try to dodge the negatives.

My cats help me stay positive. I hope yours help you through this difficult time as well.

Vibes for her husband, hope he gets well.

Indeed. All those are blessings, and health's a blessing. Had I known the gift good health would become an enormous personal & national hot-button as it is now, I would have cherished it more when I was younger.

Yes we should all realize what we have since there are so many that have way less than us. I sometimes get down too about a lot of personal things but when I turn on the news and see the homeless prople freezing in their cardboard boxes because they won't go into a shelter, I know I have a lot to be thankful for.

It is so true.
I have to really look at things from a different perspective when I start to get down about things. I have a roof over my head, am able to afford to keep my cats and myself fed and sheltered and our health taken care of. I am warm when its cold, cool when its hot. I have a job that lets me pay my bills and have some play money. My family is all well right now and I have good relationships with them. I refuse to see only the negative when I have so much to be really thankful for.

Yep, I agree, I have learnt in the past few months that life is so precious. No one is coping well with the death of hubbys nana, I have had to take my R.I.P Nana sig off as I just can't cope with it, death really does make you appreciate the things we have in life.Poor lady, how awful she must be feeling, life can be cruel sometimes x

How does that saying go..."I cried because I had no shoes, till I saw a man who had no feet."

Yes, it makes you thankful for the smallest thing, just the cardinals at the bird feeder made me happy today.
