I know of both Mexico as a country, and Mexico City. I have yet to visit, but would love to one day

When I visit it would most likely be a personal vacation. I'd like to visit many parts of the country.

It is beautiful! I had not heard of or been there either, but it definitely looks like somewhere I would like to visit in the future!

I can speak a few words and sentences in Spanish. I wish I kept taking Spanish in middle and high school though!

5.- Do you have some CD of Spanish music? do you like it?
I do have a CD with Spanish music on it, and is fun to listen to

6.- Have you ever to watched a Mexican Movie? ( I mean with Spanish Dialogs?)
I have not yet seen an authentic Mexican movie.

7.-Do you like the Mexican Food? ( do you have any preference for example: burritos, Tacos, rice & beans, etc?)
I love Mexican food! Right now my two dishes of choice are carnitas, and chori-pollo

I'm having carnitas on Saturday night

8.-Do you like the Tequila? ...or else Mexican Alcoholic beverage?
I've been known to knock back a few tequila shots

9.- Have you ever to sleeped in a hammock?
Yes I have, and would like to own another hammock this spring/summer.

10.- Have you ever to saw the traditional mexican clothes?
I've seen them at flea markets, as well as on TV, but I dont own any.

11.- Do you to know Cancun Mexico? ( Is a beach)
I know of Cancun, and possibly will take a cruise there in a few years

1. Tell us about your choice of your username. There are only a few of us that use ___ & _____.
I picked this username because both my husband Rob and I were looking on the site for information about hyperthyroidism for his cat. We had joined a different forum for tropical fish care and had the name "Rob & Tara", so I swapped it around for this forum. I'm the only one who ever searches or posts now though.

2. If you were very wealthy and had lots of land and a huge 17 bedroom house, how many cats would you have?
Hehe maybe 1 cat per bedroom? We have a 3 bedroom house now, and three cats! I'd probably also have a cat sanctuary of sorts, or a "shelter" on the property for fostering

3. I am listening to a Beatle song right now. Strawberry Fields. Does that name mean anything sinister to you as it did to so many people in the sixties?
To me, it really just sounds like something pretty! But growing up I used to listen to a lot of songs from the 50s and 60s, and have heard many variations on what the title might really mean.

4. Do you own your cats or do they own you?
I have a shirt that says it all - "Every cat owner knows, no one owns a cat"

5. What is the cutest thing that any of the cats you have had has ever done done?
Right now, I'm quite partial to Nero's new way of sleeping - Garfield-like, with his face planted straight down against the couch. All he needs is the box garfield sleeps in! I think how Nero greets me daily when I come home is one of the cutest things he does - he always puts his paws up on my legs and tries to give me kisses - he doesnt leave me alone until he gets his "mommy's home" kisses.

1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones?
I would probably bring my Bon Jovi CD, an easy listening CD, and three mix CDs, which I hope I could stand after listening to repeatedly

I'd bring the easy listening CD to make me feel like I'm just on vacation. The mix CDs because it'd be a collection of songs I enjoy, and the Bon Jovi one because I'm just a Jersey girl through and through

2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why?
A Painted House by John Grisham - its my favorite book ever.
Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper - really enjoyed that book too!
My Cat encyclopedia - might as well learn while I'm there.
The Stand by Stephen King - a nice big book to take up time.
A large collection of classics compiled? Hehe.


3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind?
A deck of cards would be nice!

And maybe a laptop with WiFi to connect to TCS

4. Food might be a challenge. If you could have only two or three foods and nothing else, what would you choose? Why?
Pasta for sure. It's starchy and filling, so I wouldnt have to eat too terribly much of it to feel full. An unlimited supply of steak would be nice. And some potatoes. You can do a lot with potatoes.

5. If you could have one human companion, who would that be? Why?
My husband. If I cant deal with him, I doubt I'd be able to deal with anyone else alone there with me either! Plus, we can always find something to talk about. And cuddling on a deserted island sounds comforting

Pay off my mortgage - we currently have 29 years 1 month left on it, so that'd be a nice weight off our shoulders

1) Do you prefer a long list of questions or several short lists?
Long lists give me more to answer at once, but several short lists mean that there'll be more instances ... I'm kind of torn!

2) When and how did you wind up in SC if you're a Jersey girl?
My parents moved to NC when I was 17, since I was still in HS, I had to go with them. I had all intentions of moving back to Jersey post-graduation 2005, but I met Rob online in November 04, and started dating in Feb '05, and ended up moving in with him in SC later that year. Wasnt letting "The One" get away!

3) North Jersey/South Jersey? (We live in Hope - NW Jersey. )
North Jersey

- I lived in Hopatcong, about two streets off the lake. Oh how I miss it

I also spent 2 years in Rockaway, where my grandma lives.

4) Any pets besides cats?
We have two 55 gallon fish tanks. One has cichlids in it, the other has a kissing gourami and tetras.

5) Friends - lots or a few? Mostly guys or women?
Very few. Mostly just people I work with, and some people from pole class I talk to outside of the studio. Its mostly guys, mainly because I was the car girl and all that. Plus too much drama with most women.

6) Short hair or long hair?
I love my long hair!

People keep telling me to cut it, but I haven't had short hair since 5th grade and dont plan on going back. My hair is about down to the middle of back.

7) Do you play with hair color much?
I have to be in the mood for it really. The last time I dyed my hair was in July, I died it black with pink highlights in it. In HS my mom went nuts with the hair color on me

She tried going from black to blonde, and it ended up carrot!

8) Makeup - all the time, sometimes, never?
Very rarely. The most I ever put on is eyeliner and maybe mascara. Not big on makeup. Hubby likes to point out that I look better without it, versus his ex who needed it to be seen lol

9) Favorite comfort food?
Chocolate, or a calzone from Italian Bistro! The only place I can get GOOD Italian food here in SC.

10) Do you like to cook? Bake?
I enjoy cooking, especially when it comes out really well. I'm getting more into baking, besides just baking ready-to-bake cookies. I made a rum cake a couple weeks ago that everyone thought was great

11) Favorite restaurant?
Italian Bistro for something quick; Wasabi for a longer dinner experience, as well as the show that goes with the hibachi cooking and all the food!

12) How'd your cats find you/DH and how did they get their names?
Nero slumped in Rob's arms and we were sold at that SPCA. His name is "Black" in Italian. Hoshi picked Nero when we brought Nero to find a brother. His name was Star, but he's a hefty boy so we picked Hoshi, which is "Star" in Japanese. Neko put on a cute show for me at the SPCA which made him look perfect for my other 2, and I convinced Rob for a 3rd cat. His shelter name was "Jim Bob", which was so NOT sticking. "Neko" is cat in Japanese. Plus it sounds cute and he's just tiny and cute lol

13) Tell us three "secrets" about yourself.
Hmmm....
1. I've been secretly thinking about dropping out of my bridesmaid position in my BIL's wedding because I cannot stand my future SIL and her manipulative ways.
2. The first guy I was with is not who my family thinks it was.
3. I spent the summer I was 15 drinking 6 nights a week with my best friend. Oy. No wonder I'm 22 now and rarely drink more than 1 or 2 drinks every few weeks

14) What makes you happy?
Cuddling with my hubby or with my kitties, book in hand. Visiting New Jersey. Thinking about the future.

15) What do you like most about yourself?
That the things I do for Rob impress a lot of people, who use me as a model for how a 'perfect wife' would be

16) What do you like least about yourself?
I can get jealous and annoyed easily at times.

17) Best feature (physically)?
My hair, or my shoulders/back ... got some muscle tone from pole classes there

18) What physically would you change?
I always say my boobs are too small haha. I wouldn't mind them being a little bigger. But I would never actually go through with a surgery because then I wouldn't be "Me" anymore

19) Are you impusive?
A lot of the time, yes

20) Favorite TV show?
Toss up between House and Bones. I love them both equally!

21) Favorite movie?
Hm, I dont really have just one. I could probably pick one from each genre though. Movies with cats in them top the list too!

22) Biggest irrational fear?
Having spiders all over me in my sleep

23) Any brothers or sisters? How many? Older/younger?
I have a younger brother (20), and a much older half sister (43) from my dad's previous marriage.

24) Do you like DH's family?
Now that I'm not living with his parents, I definitely get along much better with my MIL. I LOVE spending time with his family that lives in Maine, his grandparents, aunt & uncle crack me up. I haven't gotten to spend much time with his dad's side of the family, but I do get along with and like them too. We're driving to CO for his great-grandma's 100th bday this year, and it will be exciting to meet the rest of them!

25) Most sentimental thing you own?
My grandma's wedding ring.

Reading or photography. My cats get annoyed with me when my camera is in hand

The way I can get jealous over something, even if it really means nothing.

1. Do you cook? Do you like to, or is it a chore?
I've been dabbling more with cooking lately. My dad calls me mini-Rachel (and calls my mom Rachel, after Rachel Ray). I enjoy it, especially when it comes out well and hubby cant stop talking about it

My mom is an amazing cook, as is my grandma, so I'm hoping it runs in the family!

2. Do you like to cook with someone else? How well do you share your kitchen?
I dont mind sharing my kitchen, depending on how the person I'm cooking with is acting! On Xmas we had a bunch of people cooking in my kitchen and I'd say we all handled it rather well. It is nice to have the whole thing to myself though

3. What is your favourite thing to prepare?
Pasta. I love cooking and experimenting with pasta. Last week I made a cajun shrimp alfredo that hubby couldnt get enough of

I also made a penne lasagne that people who came into his shop asked for!

4. What is your favourite dish that someone else prepares for you? Who?
Ooh that would have to be vodka penne. My mom cooks it. She made A LOT at Xmas for me

She also makes a very good eye round roast on the rotisserie in red wine.

5. Either of those favourites might be a comfort food, or not. What is your favourite comfort food?
They certainly could be a comfort food, if I had easier access. My favorite is a calzone from the Italian restaurant down the street from my house. It's the only place I can find truly good Italian pizza and calzones down here.

6. What is your favourite celebration food?
Hmmm. I guess it depends on the celebration. Holidays would be deep fried turkey

7. When people come to my table, I always ask first whether there are any allergies/sensitivities/likes/dislikes I should keep in mind. If you came to my home, what would your answer be?
No allergies for me. I LOVE mashed potatoes, green beans, and broccoli. Meats and poultry are good. Most fish, too. Not a fan of cauliflower, eggplant or brussel sprouts

Or meatloaf.

8. Do you consider yourself adventurous where unfamiliar food is concerned?
Not at all

Dinner. If I eat breakfast, its either on the go or real quick while I make Rob his breakfast sandwich. Lunch is okay, but usually I'm at work eating it. Dinner is a time for me to have a more elaborate meal, and sit down with Rob.

I enjoy rock and classic rock the most.

Probably around 75 CDs, though knowing where they all are is a different story!

Billy Joel & Bon Jovi are tied ... yeah I'm from Jersey alright

No favorite female singer in particular.

Nope, hadn't heard of that website until just now

I have all the Godsmack cds, all the Disturbed CDs, and almost all of the Bon Jovi CDs

Not yet. My mom took me to NSync and Backstreet Boys in 99/00 because she was a huge fan. I also saw Britney Spears - my brother was a fan. I did go to a few large concerts with multiple bands and saw Static X, Otep, Seether, Chevelle, Souls Harbor, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Evans Blue, Cracker, and Staind.

8.- Do you have any preference to listen a Radio FM station???
I like 98X which is the rock station, and Q104 which is the classic rock station. They also have a great morning show called Bob & Tom.

Never listened to that one, but smooth jazz is relaxing and I listen to it at my grandma's - she plays a smooth jazz station all day.

I like making mixed CDs with all different artists, because I dont always like every song on an album.

Not anymore. I used to play the clarinet in the school band from 5th-9th grade. I could also play the flute, piccolo, and some saxophone & drums at times back then too.
