Have you ever waken up in the morning to find a cat sitting on your stomach, just STARING at you???? It's creepy!!
I woke up to Velvet sitting on my stomach this morning and she was starting me down
I am now wondering if she's plotting something bad

Every morning. Kahu does that every morning so that I get up and feed him his breakfast.

I love when Oliver sleeps on me!
Tripod does it too sometimes, but he like to face the other way.

Neither of them really stare at me, but Oliver will slap my face when I don't acknowledge that its time to get up and feed them.

Glad to know my cat's not the only one that does that!
That is a bit off for Velvet though. In the 13+ yrs I've had her, this is the first time I can remember her pulling that stunt!
Normally, she sleeps on an extra pillow right beside me and she falls asleep with one paw touching my face (it's sweet....she's done that since she was a tiny kitten!) This morning though, it was quite creepy to wake up and have her staring at me!
(Maybe she overheard me mention to my mom my plans to give her a bath yesterday lol)

Mira had done this ever since she was a kitten, but she hasn't been very affectionate since she gave birth to her own babies, so it's been a very long time since she's slept with me at all. A few days ago I woke up in the middle of the night having to pee when I realized Mira was curled up like a little meatloaf of on my chest. I didn't dare move and disturb her. I held it and fell back asleep. She was still there in the morning.

Yep - that is Hope's gentle way of reminding me to feed her breakfast too
... She doesn't meow, or really do anything... just stares at me... a bit on the creepy side my girl

Panther likes to sleep on my chest when I am taking a nap in the sofa. Cheetah will sleep with his face touching my face near my lips, or putting his face next to my neck.

They do not stare at me, because usually when I wake up from my nap, they are still sleeping. Sometimes one will put his paws around my arm, like they are holding onto a branch.

We do not usually let them sleep with us throughout the night, my other half is too scared to move and disturb them, and will end up not getting any sleep at all (we have had that a few times before we decided we need to get some sleep too).

Bailey and Buddy usually wake me up around 7 for breakfast. I feed them and then go back to sleep. After eating they usually like to go back to sleep too. I often wake up to find one snuggled between my arm and my body and then the other lying on my chest

No, but I do wake up to one sitting on the bed beside my pillow staring me down and purring at me.

Yeah all the time!

The worst is Mr Grey, who likes to smell my breath. So not only do I wake up to a cat staring at me, but I wake up to a cat leaning over me with his face RIGHT NEXT TO MINE.

LOL!

Sometimes when I wake up either Cody, Bella, Poodle, or Bear is staring me down. Almost nose to nose, about a inch from my face, LOL. When Bella does it she PuuurrRRRrrrRRRs as loud as she can. The sencond I open my eyes ALL of the cats get in my face, MeOW-OW-ing. Then I realize that I need to get up & feed them before they plot my demise!

My cat Chloe will wait till I am in bed and then use her pet steps to hop on the bed and climb right onto my chest. She will stay there for a while and then get situated and fall asleep purring and making these adorable little sounds when she is in a deep sleep. I hate to move because it will disturb her sleep. Sometimes her little brother JOJO will jump on the bed and lay face to face with me and start kneading me right in the throat and face. He knows exactly what he is doing when he does that, it means for me to get up and fed him!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I would feel better if my cat slept on me and was staring at me, because that would mean he was facing me. Instead, his BUTT is usually staring at me. Ugh, the smell woke me up a few times.
