I have a couple maroon polyester blankets. The cat hair is embedded in them, no matter how many runs through the washer and dryer, it just won't get off.
I wondered if anyone else has this problem, and if possibly anyone has a solution beside never ever buy a blanket like this again.

I just lintroll mine with the sticky sheets, then throw them in the washer/dryer.

Toss 'em if you can and look for some 100% cotton replacements. I found some nice cotton throws cheap (new in the bag) at a consignment shop, the cat hair just shakes out; definitely all washes out. Cotton isn't static-y.

Good tip, I'm going to keep this in mind. I have some fleece blankets and I have a terrible time trying to get all the hair off them.

When JC Penney has their cotton blankets on sale, I usually pick up a couple of them. I buy navy blue ones, and the white cat hair comes out in the wash every time. Right now they have them on sale for $19.99 any size. I love them....they're warm in the winter, and cool in the summer.

Fleece blankets = "catmats". That is what my husband calls them-it seems they are cat hair magnets. Try also a damp washcloth and rub over cat hair on blanket.
