My cat has an old tail injury, anything I can do?

I just noticed that my cat Archie has what appears to be a bone sticking out in the middle of his tail. It looks like an old injury since skin and hair have grown over top and it doesn't seem to affect his tails mobility. Other than being sensitive to the touch I don't think theres any damage. I dont know when this happened, maybe when he and his brother spent a few months at a cat sitter while we moved but she never mentioned anything. I feel awful for not noticing this sooner and would like to know if there is anything that can help with this protrustion. Any help would be greatly apprectiated.

I think the best thing to do is to take your kitty to the vet. They will want to shave the area, and examine it more closely to make sure there is no further damage and to make sure it IS bone. It could be some sort of weird growth, which isn't much better!

I would suggest WCVM, since you are so close to it. Excellent care, and last I heard, reasonable cost. I think they still have the small animal walk-in.
