I've begun to put together a decore, of course since I am starting with my bed, I have begun with that since it is the focal piece of furniture in the room.
I went and bought a Duvet today. A white goose down that is medium weight and can be used all year long.
Here is the duvet cover and shams that I picked.

So far I just have the duvet and bed skirt with me because the actual cover and shams were out of stock. I have paid for them and they should be in with in the next 2 weeks.
The colours will let me continue to use my existing sheets. I have one set of navy and one set of a lighter blue. Both are good quality sets. Plus I have some hodge podge pillow cases in beige for my extra pills. The only problem with my current fitted sheets is the fact that my pillow-top mattress is so thick/deep that the fitted sheets aren't deep enough to get to the bottom of the mattress and tuck under. I'll have to see how much the actual duvet covers. If it covers that, then I'm not going to invest in new sheets. The sheets stay on and don't fling off because they don't tuck under, that's all I care about
But if you can see that, then I will eventually get a new set.
Anyway, I absolutely love the ensemble! I looked around the whole store. The girl was showing me all kinds of patterns/fabric. I fell in love with the fabric of a bamboo one. It felt almost silk-like, but it had texture to it. But the colours were really, really ugly! Purple with dark purple leaf pattern. A light green with medium blue leaf pattern. A light blue with a dark leaf pattern. Blech!
The other one that I fell in love with is this one:

I love the colours of black and white together!!! And I was hard pressed to pass it up! But I did for 2 reasons. It looks nice, but after awhile becomes dreary, plus both of my cats have white fur and it shows up sooooo bad on my black living room furniture (which I am eager to get rid of later this year...it's my next project after I get my bedroom furniture).
I also really love the bed that is showing in the display of the ensemble that I did buy! I'm going to try and find one like it! Most bed frames that I've been looking at have platform side rails and chunky head/foot boards! I don't want that. I just got rid of my water bed and I don't want another platform style bed.
