Ok I hate to clean, I feel like that is all I do with 4 indoor cats and a sloppy fiance and me

What are the secrets for having clean litter boxes that don't smell up the house? Do you run around after the cats every time they use it? Do you use certain litter, boxes, etc...
Ugh...Help?

I use the crystals litter. I never smell Zoey's litterbox. That stuff is amazing.

I also use those plug in air freshners right by the litterbox!

I use just clumping litter, and have a covered pail nearby and a small bucket as well. I scoop into the small bucket, then dump into the covered pail. I wash the boxes 3 times a week in bleach and warm water, air dry them, spray the bottom of the tray where the litter goes with PAM cooking spray. I also run this in my cat room, makes a world of difference with dust and odor:

Odd but a good idea

Ok so what ya'll are saying is more cleaning needed and buy the more expensive litter
Maybe I will get a maid that does litter boxes instead...LOL! I just hate to clean.

Sicy, those crystals are pretty expensive, do you go through as much of it as regular litter?

Not even. One bag lasts as long as 3 bags of regular litter. It's about $8 a bag. The crystals absorb the pee amazingly.. so you just stir it around.. and scoop the poop out like you normally would but there is NO SMELL. I swear, this stuff is amazing.

I hate cleaning cat boxes, and I admit that I am very lazy at it. I have three cats. I did a ton of research recently and finally bought a Litter-Robot. It is very expensive up front, but after owning it....I can't say enough good things about it. It is worth every cent trust me. It works perfectly everytime. I will not have to scoop a stinky cat box again
Just read the "testamonials" and gaurantee it has. www.litter-robot.com
