I went out to feed the kitties this morning and there was a bag of catfood on top of my mailbox. I guess it was from one of my neighbors. Which is really nice. Just to be safe though I'm going to find out who it was before I feed it to them. It was opened, and I'm sure there are people around here that don't like that I feed them.

Yeah, I would find out first before using it, but hopefully it was well-intentioned!

Sad isn't it? That's the first thing that popped into my mind: "OMG, could be poisoned".
I certainly hope that it was a thoughtful gift from a kind neighbour!

Yep, that is also the first thing that popped into my head, I ahve had veg chucked over my garden for my bunnies and I asked aront as to who had given it to me before giving it them. Its so sad that we have to be like this this day in age. Well done you though for feeding the kitties and keep up the good work. xx

Yeah, I did the same. Honestly, in times like these one can never be too careful, I think, especially when it comes to the people and pets one loves.

If anything were to be in the food and your kitties died or got hurt because of it, it would be terrible! If that happened to me, I would blame myself over and over again, and then when I would NEVER GET A CAT EVER AGAIN. Like, srysly, I wouldn't trust myself with them anymore.

I sincerely hope that it really is just a gift from some nice neighbors, tho! I'm starting to wonder if things like nice neighbors exist, so it would be nice to have some reassurance that they're somewhere out there, lol.

Maybe someone who knew you had a cat also had a cat, but it died or left or it was given away or something and they didn't need the food anymore, so they left it for you?
I dunno.
