Does anyone else have a kitty that does this? My Mew will do this probably 2-3 times every day. He will hop up on the seat and keep pawing gently at the handle until it flushes then he runs away
My boyfriend doesn't like it, because our toilet is very loud and will wake us up if we're sleeping... but I think it's really cute

EDIT: Oh, and he also loves to unravel the toilet paper and drag it all around the apartment

My babies don't DO the flushing, but they "supervise" in the bathroom.... and like to watch the toilet do its thing....

So far, they haven't figured out that the TP is loads of fun... fingers crossed that they DON'T!

My kitties have very good bathroom manners, but if they didn't the bathroom door would be shut closed and they wouldn't be allowed in. I'd also get a toilet lock and put the tp under lock & key (or in the cabinet).

I have one cat, Mouse, who hangs out in the bathroom "supervising." My son's big cat, Six, uses the toilet. I didn't believe it until he stayed at my house and I caught him peeing in the toilet! My daughter and I were both spying on him and he looked at us as if to say "hey can't a cat get a little privacy around here??" My son says no one taught him to do it, he just watched them and started doing it.

I would shut the door too, but their litter box is kept in the bathroom. It is the only room in the apartment with a non-carpet floor besides the kitchen, so it's easier to clean, and it has this perfect little square nook to fit in

@bridget
that is amazing, I wish my kitties knew how to do that all on their own!

We have 4 toilets on 3 different floors. Sounds like Mew would really have a ball around this house!

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
We have bad potty manners in our house but after having one cat drinking out of the toilet and another one falling on approx 3 times trying to catch the water the toilet lid is constantly kept down at all times however when we are in the bathroom little miss princess gigi must be in there with you or she will yowl at the door and try and crawl under it. Fatman just pushes open the door and pops in whenever he wants to. Now remember this is all with their other species brother in cahoots with them. They have corrupted the puppy! Lol

Well... There are many cats that poop and pee on the toilet, bu they don't flush....
Maybe, if you teach your how to use the toilet, you will have the first fully toilet trained cat in the world??

Oh and we have to keep the toilet seat down because Pikachu likes to just jump there and he almost always falls into it... and he just hates the baths that follow

Armani will swat at the water as it flushes, making a big wet mess all over the bathroom. He also likes to squeeze his giant self into my tiny little sink and he won't move even if you turn on the water.

The rest of my kitties are more or less terrified of the bathroom. Everyday when I take a shower Kipper will wait right outside the door until he hears the water shut off and the curtain open, then he runs in and jumps up on the toilet seat for some lovin'. He'll typically hang out with me the whole time I'm doing my hair and makeup.

The toilet paper is an easy fix. The paper goes under, not over, and never gets left hanging.

The flushing thing will be more difficult.

Considering my 3 occasionally like to hang out in the bathroom, Maude is big on this, they love to supervise. I will close the door and kick them out if I want privacy and I'll see giant kitten paws(2 7 month olds that are 7 lbs and 9.2 lbs, they are going to be BIG) coming under the door. Maude and Nuts love to watch the toilet flush. Attitude has never been interested in it. Mama wasn't too thrilled about it when she was stuck inside after a week in the hospital with a prolapsed rectum before she decided the door was open and she wanted to walk outside and join the rest of the outside cats again after a week inside.

One of our litterboxes is in the bathroom but we have 2 more next to each other in the kitchen/dining room so they have access to 2 other litterboxes if they need them and they can hold it, I'm never in there that long.

Miles used to be fascinated by toilets but grew out of it. He would run into the bathroom and stare at the toilet when I flushed. I had the lid down, but the noise was what attracted him. He also would play with the handle and sometimes flush the toilet himself. He would also pull the plug out of the sink and play with that. As he got older his fascination with the sink and toilet stopped. He also grew out of attacking the toilet paper.

that is totally cute and so funny
, what are thinking?

My lil Weegee went for a nice lil swim in the toilet today. From the living room I hear this splash and I'm thinking to myself what was that exactly (cuz cats don't like water) as I go to the bathroom and here comes a dampened kitty tearing out the bathroom leaving a trail of waterpaws behind him.
