I've had concerns for some time about why my two are always skittish around people and why they always fight (with my girl, JoJo, being the aggressor)... so I started following, on Twitter, a local Animal Intuitive, and then she followed me back on there... she does quick sessions for free at a local pet friendly hotel in town every other weekend, and last Saturday I headed down to meet her. I brought pics of my two.

I asked why JoJo always seemed so scared. She said it was not that she was afraid for herself, but for me. She referred to me as 'Mom' and said she had been kinda feral (I had a feeling, but wasn't sure), and that she was unsure of my emotions (usually excited for friends coming over), and interpreted my feelings as fear or hesitation. So, I'm trying to relax around them more... now that I know they do truly pick up on my vibes...

Then, I asked about the fighting... turns out Jack gets frustrated that since he's not vocal, he doesn't get as much attention... JoJo picks on him because of his lack of vocalizing, and goads him into fighting with her, then SHE gets vocal and I scold HIM. They do like each other, but now I see their relationship as more truly brother and sister, with the sister being a bratty bossy, chatty type. it's certainly been calmer around here after I got home from talking with the Intuitive.

I know some here are skeptical about psychics and intuitives... but man, I see a difference...

Anyone else here been to one?

I haven't used one, but my sister has with her dogs. It was a while ago now, but she was really impressed and it helped a lot.

Yeah, I've noticed a difference since that evening. Eventually I want to have her come and do a full session, but those two issues were my biggest concerns. They've been calmer and more relaxed. I wasn't sure what to say back to them, but basically we conveyed that they are loved no matter what. I think they already knew that, but to be reassured. She said they were really sweet cats and loved to talk about being protective of Mom (me), and how they were thankful for me bringing them into my life.

I just gotta work on JoJo's being a bratty big sister to Jack...

Many times with Psychics /Intuitives, they pick up on body language and spoken cues. Many times in my experience, the animal psychics can pick up a lot of things from the behavior of animals alone, not to mention the little clues you give them when you talk to them about your pets. They might just be well trained, or they might really have a gift for figuring out what's going on, but I've personally never met one of these people that I felt was solely supernatural. (Had a feeling of "wow, that's a little out there... how did he know that?" but completely supernatural, no.) Watch "Dog whisperer" for a good example of what I mean.

No matter what though, if it helps you and your kitties, the means doesn't really matter. She's made you calmer and helped you modify your own "problem behaviors" , which in turn makes your furbabies calmer and tempers their bad behavior.

:-) Best wishes that this continues to work out!

I have been twice. Once was helpful, and the other traumatic.
The second person I went to I wanted to talk to about my deceased dog, and soulmate, Mercury. I wanted to know if he understood how sick he was and why he had to be PTS. I didn't get a standard tagline of "yeah, he knew and was at peace"
What I got was a big no. I was told he was scared and confused and not ready to go. This is so painful to type. She said he knew he didn't feel good but had planned on staying a while longer. She told me after he died his spirit wasn't at rest because he didn't understand why he had to die.
I can't write anymore.

I've never used a psychic, but do have spiritual beliefs. I have strong faith in Reiki healing.

My Ootay's last few months were made so much more comfortable, she was having bad arthritis trouble. I was just about to start her on tramadol when a friend who is trained in animal Reiki offered to help Ootay.

The change was dramatic, even though Marci lives on the other side of the country. Her connection to Ootay was already deep, and the Reiki was very successful. I did not have to use the tramadol at all, except for once when Ootay was very sick.

I am forever grateful to Marci for her long Distance Animal Reiki. She is helping Tolly now.

Yeha, I had quite expected her to come back with them hating each others' guts... or at least JoJo hating Jack, but Jack just wants to play... but no... she does like him... like a big sister likes her baby brother... they're doing better now...

Good grief. I don't believe that for a second. I believe they do understand, when it's time, and want us to let them go. That sounds vicious to me. Malicious.

I'm sorry you went through such a thing, but am grateful to you for sharing that with us, I know how much it must hurt. Your experience has saved me from every wanting to consult a psychic, on anything! I'll stick to Reiki.

I had the reading done at a dog show I was at. Middle of the day, in tears and trying to hide it. When I finally got back to where I was staying I totally lost it. I didn't tell her anything about what was wrong with him or the circumstances he was PTS under.
He was in complete heart failure. Lungs were filling with fluid and the medication wasn't working anymore. (lasix, digoxin, enacard, spironolactone, pimobendin)
It was like she ripped open a huge wound that was just below the surface. I won't ever go back to an animal communicator.

I'm so glad that you've had good luck with Reiki. I was attuned to Reiki over the Christmas holidays and it is really helping my IBD/pancreatic kitty. He will be hiding under the bed and I will give him 30 minutes of Reiki and 5 minutes later he is out and about. He's become super affectionate and it has deepened our connection.

Boomerkitty,

I am so sorry that you had to go through that. Losing a pet is difficult and when you have to make the decision to put them to sleep, it is even more traumatic.

I am sure you consulted with your vet and from what you said about his condition, that was what was in his best interest. I had to put my dog to sleep last April, and I realize now that I probably held on to him longer than I should have.

I do my best and remember what a great life he had and how he enriched mine.

Her words to you seemed cruel and unkind.

Oh yes, he was under the care of an internist for cardiomyopathy. He was given 3 days to a week to live and lasted 6 months post diagnosis. My vet came to my house to euth him. I wanted him to be right with me at the very end. His heart was failing so much that they first could not find a vein, and then when they did it took a good 45 seconds before it took effect. I held him and kissed him while he slowly passed.
Even if the communicator WAS right, that was not something I wanted to know.
